They actually have already confirmed it. A few days before the launch they sent up an unmanned satellite to monitor the landing.
It’s been verified repeatedly.
Devices were left on the moon that are detectable by laser scatter, or something like that. I believe they are to precisely measure the distance from the Earth to the moon.
Anyone with the right equipment can check at any time.
No before anyone says it, no, NASA isn’t the one with the right equipment.
Once we landed on the Moon, the Soviets also used radio triangulation to confirm that our transmissions (”That’s one small step for Man”) originated from the Lunar surface, as well.
The Apollo missions also left behind laser reflectors that we still use today to precisely measure the distance of the Earth to the Moon (varies slightly).
Some universities ping those laser reflectors today, as well.
