Dershowitz: Mueller report will be ‘devastating’ politically for Trump
The Hill ^ | 11/25/18 | Brett Samuels

Posted on 11/25/2018 10:03:57 AM PST by yesthatjallen

Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz said Sunday he expects special counsel Robert Mueller's final report will be politically devastating for President Trump, but said he does not believe it will criminally implicate the president.

"I think the report is going to be devastating to the president. And I know that the president’s team is already working on a response to the report," Dershowitz said on ABC's "This Week."

"The critical questions are largely political," he added. "When I say devastating, I mean it's going to paint a picture that's going to be politically very devastating."

Dershowitz argued that Mueller is unlikely to accuse Trump of crime, but will instead lay out the facts of the case. He suggested that the president is more legally vulnerable in matters related to his business.

Dershowitz, who regularly appears on cable television and defends the president, said it remains to be seen whether acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker will make the special counsel's final report public. If he does, it will likely be released in tandem with a defense from the president's legal team, Dershowitz said.

Trump has repeatedly decried the Mueller investigation as a "witch hunt," and claimed that the special counsel and his team have conflicts of interest. He has not elaborated on the latter claim.

The president's legal team last week submitted written answers to some questions from Mueller, but Trump has indicated he is unlikely to sit for an in-person interview with the special counsel.

Mueller's investigation has thus far yielded four guilty pleas from former Trump associates, and he has obtained indictments against more than 20 Russian nationals for their alleged efforts to influence the 2016 election.

Believe what you want but you have NO evidence this was a hit

I'm not saying it was a hit, from what I've read it's an unsolved homicide of disgruntled (disillusioned?) Bernie supporter who worked for the DNC. I also know the mere mention of his name will get one suspended from both FB & Twitter.

Separation is the only solution without bloodshed.

Not sure such "a separation" is on the table. This is not a geographical or territorial dispute. Rather it appears to be based on a split with sizeable portions in most communities, large and small.

Unfortunately, as kiryandil hints, separation may be obtained only by the forceful elimination or conversion in the states of a particular side of the split. The question then, of course, is how that force or conversion will appear if not violent. Art V convention?

Do you have a theory?

Dershowitz is conveniently turning the narrative adainst Trump after building up credibility for the past two years. This guy was always for Mueller

For some reason, maybe because I’m in the middle of the “Marius’ Mules” series of books about the late Roman Republic, but the Democrats, media, and Vichy Republicans are reminding me of the Roman Senate trying to bring down Caesar during and after all his successes in Gaul. One word keeps occurring to me: Rubicon. I doubt we’re destined for any concentration camps. But there may be lots of shallow graves all across the country filled with Democrat officials if they succeed in bringing Trump down. Interesting times.

Maybe there is “no evidence” in terms of physical but I feel Virginia Roberts is extremely believable. Her testimony explained in accusation form https://archive.org/stream/pdfy-BMquvwk6KkEKjSXy/Virginia%20Roberts%20accusations_djvu.txt

She had ample evidence to lie about many but she never did. Everything she says is extremely believable to me, far more believable than his denials. What else is he going to say?

I don’t know how it’s going to play out. They hate us and we hate them. I want nothing to do with them and their ways. Something is going to have to give.

Thank God Trump gave us a reprieve.

Anyone, anywhere can be found guilty of some crime in a police state.

We are officially a police state run the the 'Rat party.

But, like the Clinton's say: "Don't Stop Believing."

Seth provided the thumb drive to wikileaks
but to Herr Müller he is just another dead Jude.

Well, lately he has been on target regarding calling out the bogus “charges” and innuendo. Trying to keep an open mind about D but if he starts parroting the ‘Rat talking points we’ll know he’s gone off the rails. But I respect his legal expertise and have to defer to it since I am not trained in the law. But on political matters, well, ...

Of course it will be. Mueller will make sure it is. If some facts are available that change what Mueller set out to show you can bet they were squished.

So you’re comparing the Russian GRU hacks with the US legal system granting access to communications under the rulings of a judge. That’s a fascinating and revealing comparison, don’t you think?

Why do you assume that the GRU released the emails? That's a fascinating and perhaps revealing comment to make. Who do you work for and how do you know that?

The GRU provided them to Wikileaks. That’s been released publicly. You are not paying close attention to this story, so once you catch up, write me again.

Nice try. How about not just saying what Mr. Corsi said “That’s been released publicly”. Where and by who? And are you relying solely on public information, or are you working for the government and have other sources of information?

>> “You mean when Hillary and the dnc had Seth Rich murdered because he was the one who gave the emails to Wikileaks?" <<

"Obviously! But their thug screwed up and the doctor had to finish the job."

Neither of you is telling the whole (true) story. Hillary's driver drove her and the killer around until they spotted poor Seth

With Hillary screaming from the back seat of the van at the hit-man, he jumped out and botched the shot because she had pissed him off.

When he got back into the car Hillary screamed at him to go make it look like a right-wing mugging. The poor bastard jumped back out of the van and messed up the dying man's body a little.

Then he got back in and told Hillary that Seth was dead. She then got on the phone with the owners of WaPo and NYSlimes to get the facts "straight"...

When Hillary has people killed she doesn’t go with the killer when he does the job. That’s absurd.

Well...DUH!

If “devastating” is the benchmark, I can’t imagine the report will follow anywhere but short.
