Farm Bill Deal Eliminates SNAP Work Requirements
The Fiscal Times ^ | November 29, 2018

Lawmakers say they have reached a deal on the massive farm bill, which has been hung up for weeks over demands by President Trump and House Republicans for new work requirements for food stamp recipients.

Negotiators have agreed to jettison those requirements for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which were included in the House version of the bill but not the Senate version.

However, the White House has not yet signed off on the agreement and House conservatives may not support a bill that lacks work requirements.

What, are the repubs trying to out do the dems before the dems take over the house? These people are worthless, no wall funding, no work requirnment for snap and now they want to tie Trump’s hands on foreign policy. Lying, dishonest, disingenuous POSs all of them.

Bad idea. Just encouraging welfare bums to sit around and do nothing, while more responsible people bust their buns scrambling to make a living to support them. And the illegals, too. Just another nail in the coffin of America.

Same here - but the RINOs won’t let that happen either....I’m surprised Ryan let the House add the work requirement and dismayed the Senate cut it from the proposal....may have been why Ryan let it out of the House...he had “assurances”.

Charlie Brown and the Football.

The GOP likes to talk a good game about Conservatism, so long as they don’t have to actually DO any of it.

Voters are going to abandon them in droves.

So you quit selling to them because your sales were, by extension, subsidized?

Voters are going to abandon them in droves.

Probably - the only problem is that even more Dems will be holding seats and we will be screwed even worse than we are now.

Oh, boy, check out the last paragraph. $900 bil over 10 years. And I’ll bet that’s lowball...

I’m re-reading The Constitution trying to find the Deadbeat Clause.

I’ve read that ~25% of Walmart and Target’s food sales are SNAP. It’s a gigantic crony capitalism redistribution scheme courtesy of the US taxpayer.

Yup. They’ve solved the problem of “how do I sell my good or service to people who have no money?”

Obamacare has the same roots. Don’t doubt me.

I think that’s the end game frankly.

The Democrats take full control, implement all of their wet dreams, followed by the crash.

Our population will not believe that Socialism can’t work without a first-hand lesson.

May take a LOOOOOONG time because the entire world now runs on our fiat money.

They put on a pretty good show of being the most red-blooded, dyed-in-the-wool, Conservative Patriotic Americans you’ve ever met.

Until someone tries to cut their favorite subsidy.
Then it’s Katie Bar the Door!

Yep. I’ve got a “conservative” buddy that owns a small family farm. He’s got no problem using wetbacks for fruit picking. He claims they more reliably show up for work than the locals (blacks) who also work for him.

At least not enough of them will believe it...they'll take the rest of us down with them.

I remember when, in the '60s, a lot of hippies decided to live in Utopia by forming their own communes....wasn't long before they discovered that one got a share just for being there, not enough were willing to do the work to produce what was needed....they dissolved pretty quickly.

When they finally gain the government they dream about, all of the SNAP recipients will be off to the Gulag, anyway.
