I hate to break it to you, but Fedzilla does NOT shut down. The parts deemed “essential”, which is (snort) most of it, keep right on running.

But by all means, Trump should call the uniparty’s bluff. And allow the American public to learn an excellent object lesson in the mean time.

Yep, and the little that does get shut down ..the MSM writes stories about how someone died due to government being shut down..ha ha

I sat there in 2011 in a Pentagon agency...wasting a dozen hours planning our short-man operations plan. They were entirely serious that we’d be on the no-work situation unless deemed ‘essential’. In the end...about half of the civilians were on non-essential list and were preparing for trips to visit relatives or vacations. They all knew they’d be paid for the off-days. I had a ten-day trip planned and they screwed that up by making me essential.

You’re right. A large number of of the American people believe that a government shutdown means the end of days. Mick Mulvaney will keep things going.

But this Wall is in my opinion, impeachment, 2020 all rolled into one. If Trump gets the wall the base is with him, and the dems and establishment GOP will not get rid of him until 2024..
