My daughter lasted two days working at an IHOP—said it was the worst imaginable job, with horrible management, people getting up and leaving after waiting for a half hour,(with plenty of open tables) and on top of that, resentful and impossible to get along with “co-workers”
A far cry from the old Sambo's in downtown Los Angeles, where if you ordered coffee, you would never be able to empty your cup because as you were about to finish it, a waitress would always show up and give you a refill. The staff is like that at the coffee shop at the La Habra 300 Bowl bowling alley, where prices are quite reasonable.
Other local places where I go for breakfast include Arthur's Coffee Shop in La Habra, which claims to have "the best breakfast in Orange County," El Tepeyac Cafe in Boyle Heights for Mexican breakfasts, and the King Taco eatery in Pico Rivera for the best breakfast burrito in Southern California.
