Come on dude. What are you seeing all the time, how tough construction work is, or $25/hour lay-abouts?
Your response is representative of your level of intelligence... #180 severely lacking.
I think skilled trades is the way to go today. The value of a college education is not going up as fast as the cost. The much vaunted STEM jobs are being offshored as fast as they can. I tell kids that software can be written anywhere, but that A/C system has to be installed at the customers house by someone who has a license.
Because all the 'adults' are either working, or fishing. And kids here whine about not having summer jobs. And, I like to support our FFA program which tries to find summer jobs for program kids. ?Mas?
“Don’t tell me there aren’t Americans who won’t do this work if you paid them well.”
I read that sentence carefully, I don’t think it means what you meant for it to mean.
No. I don't "?mas?"
In so many words, you've pretty much stated *nobody* wants the jobs you're offering, neither kids, nor adults.
I sincerely wonder if you'd understand what's going on if one of your longtime, loyal, productive employees asked you for a raise, then quit when you gave them an extra fifteen dollars a week.
Many, many, MANY business people just do not get they are not worth what they ask of those they "support" such as employees, contractors, or customers. When circumstances cause that fact to smack them in the face, they produce more excuses than a busted teen-ager.
