President Trump declines to answer a final question from the press as he departs the White House Jan. 14, 2019 in Washington, DC.

President Trump is digging in his heels on his demand for a border wall, telling aides and allies that he believes he is winning the battle for public support.

Over the last 24 hours, Trump has privately touted a Washington Post-ABC News poll indicating that public support for a border wall has increased to 42% from 34% last year, a source familiar with his comments told CNN.

I doubt that will transpire though the clamor from the right for it will be great. Donald never said he was going to go right.

However, all will still be vetted at the Doors.

After Trump, how will I ever enjoy politics again..?

Indeed - savor it all while it lasts.

In my opinion, his best option in deploying US troops on the border to defend the territorial integrity of the nation against a migration invasion. That would require force protection which would require his slat fences to prevent harm to our defending troops.

C’mon...if Trump couldn’t get his own party to fund the wall, how do you think he’s going to get the Dems to do it?

I don’t know how it ends but it looks like this is all just for show.

Trump has taught me the qualities I value most in a leader.

A willingness to lead from, the front, fight in the trenches, outstanding work ethic and incorruptible patriotism. A leader who will match the Marxists punch by punch.
It’s why I will not support Pence in2024. I would like someone like Sheriff Clarke or Don Jr

Agree 100%.

Pence is a gentleman, but uh....actually we don’t NEED that, right now.

Or maybe EVER.

My pick would be Don Jr. for sure.

Agreed Pence has many good qualities but lacks something you need to be President.

The video of Crying Chuck and Nancy haranguing President Trump in the WH sealed the deal for me with Pence - the guy sat there in silence whilst these two deranged Marxists insulted and attacked our President for the crime of defending our Republic !

...stop all immigration so the country can catch its breath and assimilate what we have now. At least for 20 - 30 years.

Preach it, brother.

That is the senior, common sense solution overriding all of this. It's what America did from the 1920s through the 1960s, and it worked.

Once once upon a time racing for Pinks, the operating rule was “Blow or Go”. Some might say this is for a different type of “pink slip” but the action remains the same. PDJT should put his foot through the firewall!

You're right the republicans had the house and the senate but republicans aren't interested in building the wall either. Neither party is genuinely interested in solving the problems the citizens of this country have. Its just the democrats are crazy and the republicans are disingenuous.

This is one of the fundamental underlying characteristics of our political system responsible for creating the environment that made electing Donald Trump possible.

To then go back and say the republicans and the president who ran as one are of the same party - and think there was truly a majority is putting semantics over the reality we all knew to be true.

President Donald Trump is a Republican in terms of ideology the others just seem to have an R in front of there name and that's about how far it goes.

Most of the house and senate republicans are uniparty wankers who do what their donors want them too - the rest is just wedge issues to play us for suckers.

I just don't think we should pretend he had a true majority and then say well they should have gotten it done.

I think he would take $3 billion and reopen.

He'd better not. The $5.7 billion he's asking for is only 1/10th of 1% of annual FedGov expenditures, as it is.

We need $21 billion to complete the whole project.
