Cuomo: Say goodbye to plastic bags
cnucentral.com ^ | January 13, 2019

If the governor has his way, New Yorkers won't use plastic bags anymore.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is proposing a ban on plastic bags as part of this year's executive budget.

The effort is to combat litter because plastic bags do not biodegrade. Cuomo said Sunday that the ban will also help reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with plastic bag production and disposal - from the petroleum used to produce the bags to emissions from their transportation to landfills.

The governor said that reusable bags and exemptions will be applied "where appropriate."

First it was paper bags.
Now it’s plastic bags.
Cloth bags are unsanitary.

What are people supposed to do?..................

“What are people supposed to do?”

Do what Cuomo does and have a personal assistant go get groceries.

I’ll use cloth bags and simply wash them occasionally. Watching the plastic bags fly like ghosts when the Arizona desert wind blows is horrid.

The strangest thing is, if exposed to sunlight, plastic bags degrade quickly to near dust. A better way to take care of the plastic bags is to recycle them to another use. Plastic bags are made from a byproduct of refining organic oil. Newspaper and magazines btw, take centuries to degrade if they end up in landfills, maybe no different or worse than plastic.

Lunacy, but that being said, you would think that someone would be producing a cost competitive biodegradable bag by now.

LefTards won’t be happy until we’re all roaming around naked, living in caves and carrying things around in our hands.

And even THEN...they won’t be happy!

I, for one, use sturdy boxes and cloth bags for carrying ‘stuff.’ I have for years.

HOWEVER, were I ‘TOLD’ that I had to live the way I live, I’d tell ‘em to p*ss off, LOL!

In effect, Newsom seceeded from the union.

California should be nationalized and downgraded to territorial status under a military governor.

Nancy Pelosi and all elected to federal offices would be out of jobs. State communists could be thrown out of office. Tens of thousands could be rounded up and deported

So true. I have heard that possibly adding a small amt of sugar will decompose it realitivly quick.

I recycle mine.

I fill them with combustible trash, tie them up and toss them in the burn barrel
