To say House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has mastered the art of dealing with President Donald Trump would be a gross understatement. She fact-checked him in the Oval Office on live TV and passed spending bills to reopen the government, thereby reinforcing Trump's responsibility for the shutdown. To top it off, she's taking away the president's TV. More precisely, in response to Trump's nearly monthlong temper tantrum, she has told him he won't get his prime-time State of the Union address on Jan. 29.

I hate to disagree with you, but the President needs to give the address before a live audience with thunderous applause after each line. The affirmation from the audience has an impact on TV viewers.

I have to disagree with you. Nothing ‘trumps’ the authority of the Oval Office; and it would make a profound statement if the President removed this from politics and the usual ‘circus’, and focused again upon the border crisis, national security, and the danger that a feeble Southern border has put us all in for decades.
(Along with some ‘thunderous applause’, there’d also be Pelosi behind him mindlessly chewing her gums, and all sorts of other distraction. Americans need to hear from the President, straight, the situation that we are in, apart from all of this fanfare.)

But then what else would expect from a place that advocates the normalcy of one man slipping his Johnson into another man’s sewer pipe? Trump should just go to Congress with the intention of giving the SOTU. Let’s see if the commies call a baliff to escort Trump out of the chambers! I doubt it. This would make great theatre. If Trump did end up giving the speech either the Dems would walk out or Trump would give the speech.

If the Dims do not allow the President to speak in the House chamber, the Dim House members are certainly not going to crowd into the Senate chamber to hear the President. That means over 200 Dim naysayers will vanish from view.
And who knows, Nancy may order all Senate Dims to boycott as well. If we are lucky there will be 242 elected Republicans in the Senate Chamber which has normal seating for 100 - standing room only.
Throw in 5 Supreme Court Justices and some special guests in the gallery.
And not nary a sour Democrat in sight.
