House Democrats on Wednesday were making plans to undermine President Trump at his Jan. 29 State of the Union address. Just past 8:30 a.m., the leadership’s communications arm sent an email to lawmakers urging them to bring furloughed federal workers or other “message-related” guests to the nationally televised event. Unknown to most of her caucus, however, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) had decided on a more confrontational approach. Addressing a closed-door meeting of House Democrats, the speaker read a letter she had just sent to Trump asking him to either postpone the speech until the federal government reopens or deliver the text in writing, citing security concerns. Surprised Democratic lawmakers cheered their leader’s rationale: If the government stays shut down, Pelosi would deprive Trump of the spotlight he craves....

It seems like it is just speeding up. The likely Supreme Court nomination, the new AG and the end of Mueller/Rosenstein, the shutdown, the wall, China tariffs, Syria - all coming at once, while they are jumping from 10 or 20 tweets per day.

Trump should have had the military bus, under his command, bring Nancy to the White House to negotiate and abandon her.

However, Trump brings a gun to his knife fights....I wonder how Nancy is liking the cancellation of her foreign photo op tour.
I say Oval Office. A fireside chat. With Angel Moms and Border Patrol behind him. NO chance for Pelosi to make faces or pull her shenanigans.
DJT would be doubly effective if he used graphics to support many of the stats presented. Stats never play well when spoken, and not shown.
DJT should reshape the SOTU further, complete with all the good video supporting his case, graphics, etc. Imagine the twisted panties from the nets when Obama, Schumer, Pelosi, Clinton are shown supporting the wall, and border officials explain how effective it has been. Further , show Nancy's wall in SF. A nice graphic showing the enormity of the federal budget, and the 1/10th of 1 per cent DJT is requesting.
I could go on....
Pelosi is hailed for doing this, but Trump is childish for doing it back.

There was another more rational way forward. Pelosi could have worked across the aisle, united the country and then lead us to conquer the horrible catastrophes we all face (ask Gore). Now with government shutdown we are doomed. Millenials will soon be over dosing on Tide Pods. Oh the hugh manatee.
The President will still give the SOTU address. She canceled NOTHING!
