A Buzzfeed News report alleges Mr Trump directed Michael Cohen to lie about plans to build a Trump Tower in Moscow.
Cohen has already admitted to lying about when the business project ended.
Mr Trump has not yet responded directly to the report's allegations - but he has previously denied ever directing his former lawyer to break the law.
The intelligence committee of the House of Representatives will investigate the claims, says its new chairman, Adam Schiff.
"The allegation that the President of the United States may have suborned perjury before our committee in an effort to curtail the investigation and cover up his business dealings with Russia is among the most serious to date," Mr Schiff wrote on Twitter.

How does Cohen get jail for lying to Congress when he can supposedly show that Trump directed him to lie to Congress?

Ohr’s testimony was leaked yesterday - basically Andrew Weissmann was not only working on the dossier, but ALSO prosecuting people in the Mueller counsel. MASSIVE CONFLICT OF INTEREST.
Mueller’s report DOES NOT need to be made public. Trump can take it, spike it, and then declassify everything related to the report. Weissman et al. are trying to get Trump to blink by releasing unfounded things here and there to media (bag of cash to McClatchy, Russian tower to Buzzfeed).
Again, nothing here is illegal other than the accusation that Trump MAY HAVE LIED, but as we all know, Trump doesn’t use email so they had better have a tape (which would have been produced by now) or this is all hearsay.

Impeachment isnt inevitable. Dems can’t run on and use the issue in 2020 or the speculative of ‘he’s a criminal’ if they charge him and know the Senate will dismiss it for lack of evidence. Be it Dems or Mueller or Cohen all want to avoid showing actual evidence; they always wanted to try and convict Trump through the media and a Senate hearing will exposed what little evidence they have. Plus Trump gets to in a sense in a impeachment trial show evidence himself and they don’t want that either.
Usually prosecutors are supposed to reveal the whole evidence (scheme) as in conspiracy to commit a crime (lying to Congress on directions of someone) in a plea deal. This —— He admitted to lying in a deal and then months later he’s admitting to conspiring with Trump doesn’t add up.
If anything this could be a dirty trick to deflect attention from Mueller team knowing that the dossier was fake well before they took up the case or a fake hit on Trump just because he’s winning against Nancy and the Fems and they want to supposedly knock him down a notch within a news cycle

Funny, I paid close attention to his campaign statements, and I never heard him brag about his relationship with Putin. The only thing I heard him say about Putin was that he was a strong leader, and the Left is so stupid that they did not catch the ellipsis, the unspoken part of that sentence, that Obama was a weak leader.

After all the wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth because Trump won the election, Trump still won the election and Muller, Pelosi or Hillary ain’t gonna change that.

In my lifetime, every damned time we have an effective Republican President, the Dems, the press which acts as their spokesmen, and the “culture” join together to try to force them from office before their term ends. They did it with Nixon (JFK, LBJ and other Dems had committed crimes of much greater magnitude which they ignored); they tried it and failed with Reagan (the Iran-Contra nonsense); they are now trying it with Trump. Note the R presidents they didn’t try it with - those who were either ineffectual or who constantly crossed the aisles - Gerry Ford, the Bushes, father and son.
Claiming negotiations ended earlier does not equal instructing to lie. Further, President Trump would have had to know that the claimed date for the end of negotiations was wrong - and that would be difficult to prove.
Buzzfeed is off its rocker on this one, I think.
Even IF it were true, Bill Clinton already proved perjury is not grounds for impeachment.
