Currently, it looks as if March 2019 will see a $3 billion contingency fund distributed proportionally over what would usually be a $4.7 billion food stamp outlay. The real pain will begin in April 2019. Expect either massive rioting by the ... uh, Amish communities in the inner cities ... or an emergency bill to restore something like regular funding for SNAP while the politicians continue to wrangle over the border security wall.
