If I was taught that socialism meant I could live in a perfect world, and have everything I ever wanted for free, I’d vote for socialism too.
Well, I think they are misguided.
But, when you think of the world they’ve been raised in: Their parents and grandparents were raised in the 80’s and 90’s where money was everything. Tney were influenced by not having fathers to guide them. Their sports heroes are measured by salary, and not achievements (unless you live in Tom Brady Land).
And the number one representative of the Gen Zs is a girl who makes a billion off from lipstick she sells on social media for being an “It” girl.
They were told they have to go to school. They will get a good job. Nope. They are told they have to go to Iraq and Afghanistan and Syria, or they are not patriotic.
I have kids in that generation. They are successful in their own right—but they are generally getting screwed by their surrounding culture. I see their peers from high school succeeding because they were educated well. But I see their cohorts floundering because they just don’t know how to compete. Competition is not a negative word.
They have been driven by social media to a standard that cannot be achieved—and anyone sticking their head above is scored as “selling out.”
I would hate to be that age today. Its possible to “win” but you have to block out a lot of crap.
We have a real life example of our future under socialism in Venezuela.

Millennials need to understand that socialism means giving up their freedom of ownership. Their property is not theirs, their cars are not theirs, their bedrooms are not theirs...
Under socialism, everything they thought was theirs belongs to everyone else.
Furthermore, socialism promises "equality of outcome" not "equality of opportunity"...
Do Millennials realize that they will be rewarded in a manner equal to all others regardless of how hard they may work or how clever they are...that their "unique" contribution to the world as an individual has NO VALUE?

There is more negativity, more problems, more of everything bad and to escape, the “mills” and “gen Z” go to Facebook to look like they are Zoolander models that jet set across Europe for a photo shoot.
But are things that bad? No. But they are told they should have everything early; and as a consolation prize the socialist government will give you the next best thing: almost everything, or at least enough money to continue on Facebook like you are snow boarding and enjoying lattes on some mountain top.
What can Trump offer? What glamorous thing does he have to compete with AOC? He’s an old white man who’s a racist in their minds. AOC looks like a model (just like the Zoolander models) and will live the swank life of artist lofts and fancy dinner parties. That is a winning argument.
The democrat party is the party of cool. By following them you are cool too... like Hollywood is cool... like socialist Bernie is cool. It’s cool by proxy. And that is another winning argument (if not the same argument).
It would take about two days for kids to realize that some people will simply not work but will still expect to share fully in the outcome.
I remember an old story of such a communal effort in Vermont where Bernie Sanders participated.
There were a lot of complaints about ole Bernie. It seems he sat around and ran his mouth about the joys of socialism but never actually did any work.
People were quite p!ssed at old Bern.
Bottom line: If millennials are interested in socialism, let them try it in some smaller settings. They will learn quickly that it doesn't work quite as blissfully as promised.
