I agree that AOC is scripted. The Left fringe knew that a scruffy near-octogenarian (who isn’t even registered as a Democrat) isn’t going to be the one to take the Democrats from where they are today (welfare state crony capitalism) to hardline Marxist socialism. They needed someone younger, more telegenic and with more staying power to keep rallying the millennial social justice warriors - someone they can identify with and aspire to be. Both political parties, all views, it's about electability. Integrity, commitment to values, and evidence of wisdom aren't even part of the equation anymore. JMHO, that might be the simplest reason to explain why President Trump and Bernie Sanders did so well. They did (and still do) best when they express honestly held values.

What sets AOC apart from the others is that she's so young, and her House gig is her first foray into politics. This makes a lot of the elements of her questionable background much more transparent than they would otherwise be.
She graduated from Boston University with a degree in international relations and a minor in economics, but at the age of 28 she apparently had nothing to show for it but a pile of college debt and a job as a bartender. And this was at a time when the U.S. unemployment rate was at or near its lowest point in history, mind you.
