She is the sock puppet for hard-core socialists, many in academia, who feel that now is the time to push forward towards the final transformation of America.

Why would anyone be shocked by political organizations forming to direct and control who has access and advantage on ballot position and organizational campaigning?
Just because there are groups besides the two major political parties running the show for politicians doesn’t mean it’s odd or shocking. Just the opposite. The biggest difference that I can see here is that normally in the political parties you are expected to take an upward path and wait your turn, which is good and bad. With these it appears you get fast tracked. With the parties you are virtually assured to be a well trained.... er... well groomed asset by the time you get the higher reins, but the good side is that you usually have a pretty good idea what you’re voting for.

She’s not “scripted.” More like she’s coached or briefed or prepped or advised or counseled or prompted to stress certain points. And I doubt she’s a wholly passive partner in the proceedings. There would have to be some give and take between her and her handlers, and by now they probably know that she’s going to cut loose and not be confined to any narrow set of guidelines, notes or talking points. She’s different from most freshmen in Congress because she grabs the cameras, but she may not be any more dependent on her staff than the rest of them are.
If she is a puppet, she sucks at it.
What can we do to counter this tactic?

I agree that AOC is scripted. The Left fringe knew that a scruffy near-octogenarian (who isn’t even registered as a Democrat) isn’t going to be the one to take the Democrats from where they are today (welfare state crony capitalism) to hardline Marxist socialism. They needed someone younger, more telegenic and with more staying power to keep rallying the millennial social justice warriors - someone they can identify with and aspire to be. So along comes an airhead Puerto Rican waitress...
