CNN’s Don Lemon ties Donald Trump to college admissions cheating scheme
Fox News ^ | 13 Mar 2019 | Joseph A. Wulfsohn

CNN host Don Lemon managed to connect President Trump to what has been called the “largest college admissions scam ever prosecuted by the Department of Justice” on Tuesday night by saying the president also benefited from a rigged system that favors the elite.

Earlier in the day, law enforcement officials announced 50 indictments for those involved in a scheme in which wealthy parents allegedly paid large sums of money for their children to be accepted at prestigious universities across the country. Among the high-profile individuals swept up in the controversy are TV actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin.

When Lemon tackled the topic during his opening monologue, he called it “disturbing” that such well-off families would go to such lengths to get their children into college and quickly pivoted to Trump.

The “CNN Tonight” host said that such a scandal can reinforce many people’s beliefs that the “system is rigged against them,” something he noted was a theme during Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

CNN primetime shows filled with liberal opinion, not straight news as network claimsVideo “This is what Donald Trump tapped into and in a lot of ways, guess what, he was right,” Lemon conceded before using the scandal as the impetus to mention the president's own upbringing.

“A lot of people will point out, and they have every right to do so, that Donald Trump himself is a beneficiary of a system that’s rigged in favor of the elite. Let’s not forget The New York Times investigation that revealed at age three, Donald Trump was earning $200,000 a year in today’s dollars,” Lemon told his viewers.

“He was a millionaire by age 8,” Lemon shrugged.

My goodness, I guess I never considered how much shame the families of the rich kids at State U were suffering. Then again, the Hollywood lifestyle of having only one or two children VERY late is going to result in all kinds of weird stuff like this. Meanwhile, it’s somehow Trumps fault.

Trump is just like climate change, there is nothing he’s not responsible for.

I think something to be considered (when you call them good schools) is that once these kids are admitted, they have to pass their courses. Since it required bribery to get them admitted, it is logical to assume that some chicanery must be at work to help them succeed at getting satisfactory grades. Some of these kids we are talking about are dumb as rocks. Thus a lot more than the admissions personnel have to be involved.

So, I have to assume that these schools are not as good as their reputations would have us believe.

I was wondering about that. Even at elite schools there are easy courses. The hurdle is often getting in, not staying in. The ongoing investigation might reveal even more funny business. Of course, “student athletes” manage to stay in school despite being functionally retarded, and nobody bats an eyelash.

Fraternities and sororities do a good job of steering kids to non-demanding classes and majors.

CNN host Don Lemon managed to connect President Trump to what has been called the “largest college admissions scam ever prosecuted by the Department of Justice” on Tuesday night by saying the president also benefited from a rigged system that favors the elite...well, now that Don mentions presidents and shady college admissions, we're still waiting to find out what Obama's high school, college, and law school grades looked like, and how he was ever accepted at Columbia and Harvard......

Time to vent! I don’t know how all of you handle what is going on.. I get angry and want to fight back. I don’t want to watch the news but still want to keep informed.

We are in a position where the very top of everything in this United States, is run and operated by criminals... lying low life .... except for Pres Trump, they all are out to get rid of us.. anyway they can... and they want to remove Trump also.. so there would be nothing left but THEM and their rotten to the core, lives, having it all.

They accuse Trump when it’s THEM. They call him and his voters names, we are too dumb to know anything... but it’s THEM who fit that description. Trump is not corrupt... THEY are!

They elevate those who are rotten to the core.. and try to embarrass those who are good people. They have divided us into 2 types.. one is THEM.. rich and know it all and too good and elite to associate with others... everything is owed them..
The second are the rest of us, who are unworthy of even living.

As I see it, we are the only ones who know what is needed for the country... we are trying to fix this country and they are tearing it down.

The problem is: they are in the top positions and there is no one to stop them or get them OUT... Trump has not cleaned up the swamp.. has not fired those who are causing problems... the mueller circus has gone on and on.. it’s crazy that the President has not sent them home.. ended it. It’s a circus and it has to stop... do what has to be done.. stop the bleeding...

Of course, Don “Affirmative Action” LeMon is not at all disturbed that hundreds of thousand of minorities get undeserved slots that should have go to more academically qualified students. And if this was truly a colorblind society, those minorities students(except Asians) would never get their foot in the door of even state run colleges. But politically correct discrimination is O.K. in Don's books.

Some pigs are more equal than others..

A lot of schools no longer grade, so these kids could probably drift along without much of a problem.

As for those who were supposed to be playing a sport they knew nothing about...well, that’s why the bribe went to the coach. He “handled” it for them.

What about the scheme where whites are not accepted at prestigious universities because of affirmative action?

Does it really matter at this point? You think think George W. Bush was academically qualified to get into Yale? Or that Lurch Kerry was qualified to get into Yale? Rich Daddies helped a lot.

UCLA and Berzerkley are both superior academic institutions to USC.

For most things, probably, but the prestigious USC film school gives that university much cachet in the film business.

Maybe it's the same with Columbia (academically higher rated) and NYU (more linked in to the entertainment business) on the East Coast.
