President Trump:
Excuse me, they didnt put themselves down as neo-Nazis, and you had some very bad people in that group. But you also had people that were very fine people on both sides. You had people in that group excuse me, excuse me, I saw the same pictures you did. You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down of, to them, a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name.
Trump became even more explicit:
Im not talking about the neo-Nazis and white nationalists because they should be condemned totally.
But like many fake news narratives, repetition has helped cement this one into a reasonably plausible storyline for all but the most skeptical consumers of news. In fact, over the weekend, Fox News host Chris Wallace pressed White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney on why Trump has not given a speech condemning white supremacist bigotry. Well, Chris, he has, and more than once. The most powerful version was from the White House following Charlottesville and the heartbreaking death of Heather Heyer. President Trumps succinct and direct words:
Racism is evil, and those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans.
Instead of hyper-partisan, distorted narratives, as American citizens we should demand adherence to truth -- and adherence to the common values that bind us regardless of politics. In the words of our president: No matter the color of our skin, we all live under the same laws, we all salute the same great flag, and we are all made by the same almighty God.

I dunno, but let me try this for an answer - because Levin has tendancy to be a bloviating gasbag if he doesn't restrain himself. A lot of us don't have an hour much less that much patience to listen.
How about john Lott?

‘T’sok. A lot of us shoot then survey target damage, if any, then try aiming. Despite being a submariner [that’s my story and I’m sticking to it], I’ve taken the odd potshot at a friendly.
Let's see, take out the garbage, clean the dog run, click on something posted by John Lott.
Well, I clicked on one, anyway, and here is what I read:
Trumps top staffer doesnt believe his boss is a white supremacist. Many Americans disagree. Acting White House Chief of staff Mick Mulvaney left no equivocation: The president is not a white supremacist.
And I stopped there and closed it.
Really? Whose opinion is that going to change. It's like saying Nixon is not a crook. Or worse, Nixon saying I am not a crook. Or Haldman saying Nixon is not a crook.
Just laugh, ridicule the person making the charge (tell him his combat boots looked better on his grandmother), and go on to something serious. You cannot get sucked into the Maelstrom.
Fakenews name calls conservatives.
Then they debate ther name calling.
It is amazing how people get hooked into bad emotion as mews.
How ironic. I was a skimmer ASW specialist and sonar technician.
Does either ridicule, or factual refutation, make the greatest impression on the low-info voters watching CNN/ABC/CBS/NBC/MSNBC?
If ridicule and sarcasm were the best weapon why do neither POTUS , Levin or Lott utilize it?
Sonar Techs were among my favorite folks. Smart, and back when I was on active duty they actually had to identify things by ear.
Sonar contact off the port bow. Bearing 345. Range 3057 yards. Doppler is up. Echo quality is sharp and metallic. Apparent bow aspect.
Oops, 345 wold be the port beam. My bad.
Torpedo in the water.

Fine people or not, the only reason the US put the first man on the moon was that we got better Nazi scientists than the Russians did.
That is a slanderous lie. Lee lived LONG before National Socialism was ever created. Furthermore Trump called the people protesting the removal of heritage sites/ statues fine people - not the folks from central casting masquerading as racists. The destruction of America’s heritage statues is just as bad as when the Taleban destroyed Afghanistan’s heritage / Buddha statues. People who are against the destruction of a country’s heritage ARE by definition fine people. I think you owe everyone from Dixie an apology for your demonization of General Robert Lee. Lee was asked to run the Northern army, but declined as he was from Virginia so had to stick with his people. A little thing called honor. His memory was further immortalized in 1979 when The Dukes of Hazard named its Dodge Charger muscle car after him. Calling him a National Socialist so recklessly is disgraceful.
Werner von Braun claims he was never a true believer as he just wanted to built rockets & accepted support where he could find it. He was troubled how his rockets were used as weapons. His real vision was for space exploration. Not political ideology nor war.
The left resorts to lies reflexively by default as they cannot debate on fact.
You missed the /s/ tag my friend. Even worse your sarcasm meter has been stuned and is a fried smoking mess sitting on the floor. I suggest getting a new one before any further posting.
Thanks Para-Ord.45.
Interesting Question. Can a Nazi be a nice person? What about the Nazi who saved thousands of Chinese lives at the German Embassy at the rape of Nangking? What about Weierner Von Bruan the Rocket scientist—he was a Nazi—Got the Iron Cross from Hitler? Was he a bad man? What about others who joined the party during the war and fought for their nation? Are their many other factors in this question.
