Illegals are willing and able to live 2-3 or more families to a house. They aren’t predominant in homeless encampments that I’ve passed through.

The fact that they live 2-3 or more families to a house enables them to work at a discount. Eventually they’ll displace an established worker (not one for one - they are consumers too and their presence does create a few jobs, but not on the same scale as those who aim to live 1 family to a house).

From what I’ve seen, many of the homeless are people who can’t survive on the discounted wages since they aren’t prepared to adapt to a 2-3 families to a house culture.

Cops won’t even arrest a shoplifter. Store employee catches someone stealing inside the store it’s not a crime; if the employee chases after the thief outside still nothing will happen.

"Migrants from other countries is not the issue in Seattle."

Not directly, but their presence might be driving up the cost of housing and increasing congestion. But you are basically correct: most of the homeless are not recent migrants, and most are white, at least the ones I see in my area.

“that it’s a DRUG problem”

Guess drugs underlie many of our social problems.

Solutions are either expensive and don’t work, or are in some minds inhumane.

Liberty does not mean it is OK to live like a pig.

Have a nice day.

I don’t think I’ve seen more money actually solve anything in the last 50 to 60 years.

Having a high temp of 118 is also a great deterrence! SW Arizona is a great place to live.

They are only migrants like ants going to honey. Druggies from our own country that the Seattle city leadership are deliberately importing to

The radical progressive Left city council and mayor make is so "sweet" (easy) for the drug users to come to Seattle and be coddled. So they come.

They are coddled in the sense that the cops don't usually harasses them, they seldom arrest them. When they do, they let them go the same or next day. The cops know these people by their first names. They're told to treat interaction with these folks like it's an intervention of some kind.

But what it really has become, is no intervention at all. Period. Let them do what they want.

And the city leadership endorses this, accepts this and focuses much of their resources on a problem of their own making. And what things they do do, just enables the problems and the drug use and homelessness get worse. It's spiraling out of control without any adults in the city running the show.

America is dying

America has had a cancer for years. In 1973 we starting murdering the unborn. Did we think God was going to ignore this abomination? Add to that, legalized narcotics, homosexual marriage, et al.

We have a cancer, but instead of going to the surgeon for a cure, we're trying all types of hippy and new age herbal and metaphysical remedies. Now it's too late.

I was stationed at nearby Ft. Lewis in the late 80’s, and it was a fun and exciting city with a great music scene and several decent sports teams.

Went back in the mid 90’s to attend graduate school, and the decline was noticeable even then.

Now, my daughter attends university in Seattle, and I pray for her safety every day.

Liberalism is a poison that has slowly infected Seattle, and may actually kill it...jury is out.

Where do you send all the people living on the streets? What do you do with them?

The big lie is that society at large can do anything to honestly help those who refuse to help themselves.

The best thing society can do to help them, is to suspend all taxpayer-funded government programs that provide the homeless with benefits of any kind. As the old adage goes, 'You get more of what you subsidize.'

I'd wager that the vast majority of the homeless have the ability (if not the inclination) to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps. Take away the gov't freebies, and most of them will soon be hungry enough to find their way back to Realsville.

People living in tents are not homeless. They are squatters

I worked in Top Secret Vault providing communications and IT services for the US Department of State in Hong Kong; my new boss was a guy named Roger. Roger was from Seattle. Roger has a wife from Japan who secretly kept and travelled on her Japanese passport instead of her US Passports (official and personal). Roger took his private cell phone into the Vault everyday - I reminded him frequently but he used it to talk with others from the Vault - illegal and he just kept doing it. Roger and the other IMS knew Steve came into the Vault over a weekend and he didn’t lock the door - they tried to blame it on me and give me a security violation - after I pulled the computer logs and proved who was in the Vault over the weekend (after I signed locking the door), the Regional Security Officer (Diplomatic Security and new to post), asked me for the logs; Steve never gets a violation and gets promoted. I get screwed for making a big deal. SEATTLE and Roger go together - the corrupt. Why is this a Country a mess is because of people who lie, cheat and break rules all the while using the system against You and Me.
