Former Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach says that despite claims by Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, President Trump does not need Congress to stem the tide of booming levels of illegal immigration at the United States-Mexico border.

Just do it.
Naming him as the Immigration Czar makes a lot of sense.
He should have . Instead he named some clown who will accomplish nothing, trump couldnt make a good personnel choice if his life depended on it,
Keep some more Obama holdovers. See where that gets you trump.
Very logical plan and it seems we desperately need a new Homeland Security secretary.
I hope I’m wrong, but I think Mr. Trump intends to use this unresolved issue as a method of helping him get re-elected.
It’s not out of the question. That end justifies means perspective is often how politicians think or are advised.
The border crisis will be but one of the many drums the GOP beats all the way to the finish line in 2020. This sense of urgency rallies the troops and brings out more voters.
POTUS either wants 90,000 invaders a month through an open border or he’s getting the worst advice possible.
This has merit... start it yesterday ... or tomorrow at the latest...

Kobach explained:
Theres basically three steps. The first one is finalize a regulation that DHS proposed back in September. They could have finalized the regulation, made it go into effect in December, four months ago, but theyve been dragging their feet what the regulation would do is basically supersede the Flores Settlement. The Flores Settlement is that 20-year-old settlement that limits the amount of time that a minor can be detained and effectively limits the amount of time that a family can be detained together. Once this regulation is published, we can detain the whole family, keep them together, and that reduces the incentive to bring these minors north and using them as Get out of jail free cards. [Emphasis added]
The second [step] is because of the lack of traditional detention space, the Border Patrol is saying Well we have to let these people go. Now I have some disagreements with the terms on which theyre letting them go. Lets back up, we can create detention space. The federal government right now owns thousands, multiple thousands, of trailers and mobile homes that we use for hurricane disasters and theyre selling them at bargain prices right now we should be using those to create basically processing centers where people you put a fence around a park or a parking lot, you park a hundred of those trailers there and you can have people have their immigration hearings, have their asylum and credible fear hearing, have everything right there. Deploy dozens of immigration judges down to these centers. Dont let them go, have a fleet of commercial planes ready to fly them back to their home countries. [Emphasis added]
The third thing we could do is we absolutely have to put pressure on Mexico. But I dont think threatening to close the border is necessarily the best way to do it because Mexico knows that hurts us as well. What we should be doing is threatening to pass a Treasury [Department] regulation prohibiting illegal aliens from sending home remittances through Western Union and the like. Then tell Mexico, well finalize that regulation and well cut off $20 billion a year in capital unless you give us a safe third country agreement like we have with Canada. And what a safe third country agreement is, basically whenever an asylum seeker steps foot in one country or another, he doesnt have the ability to pass through that country and then claim asylum in the second country. With Mexico and the United States, people coming from Central America would have to claim asylum where they step first, thats Mexico, and not go all the way through Mexico to claim asylum in the United States. Demand that Mexico sign that agreement, its very simple, its working great with Canada and get them to throw in some [border] wall money as well. [Emphasis added]
Kobach said the three executive actions would deliver immediate results for the American people and the nations sovereignty.
If we did all those three things, wed solve the crisis, Kobach said. You would see a dramatic drop in the number of people coming north and youd see these caravans coming to an end.
Anyone have a single reason why Trump should not do everything listed tomorrow?
The economic and other gains mean nothing if the country has effectively disappeared in 10 years.
I’m growing very wary and skeptical as Trump effectively does nothing about his biggest campaign promise.
If it turns out you are right, I will probably write in Ann Coulter in 2020.
A lot of good ideas there. I like his spirit.
You need only one thing to solve the immigration crisis: the will to do it.
It looks like Trump understands the crisis. But for some reason he does not have the will to do much about it. And this illegal immigration is an irreversible. Once the illegals get in, they will not be going back.
It’s like a ship with a hole in its side And this ship does not have a water pump. If you do not patch the hole in time, you will sink.
On a related note, I've been thinking about when the fix began. My most recent conclusion is the 60s, as a reaction to the untoward economic gains made during the post-war 50s. The elite decided the lower/middle classes had become too uppity, and needed to be reduced to their historical subservient position.
It's really the only logical conclusion I can come up. The elite also utilized the classic divide & conquer techniques used by the Brits in India and elsewhere. By that, I mean the tactic of aligning traditionally 'disenfranchised' (read: low IQ, low motivation) groups against the self-satisfied middle-class. The trendy term today is 'inter-sectional', but the intent and purpose is the same.
In this way, the globalist controlled media/government can cast the southern invasion in a positive light, and draw on supporters to stymie any efforts to combat the threat. In this way, the intent is to destroy the economic/political power of the US middle-class once and for all.
I've used this analogy on a few different threads, so here goes again: when did the German high command know it was all over? By any logical conclusion, if the population replacement and cultural substitution program began before many were born, what are the chances of successful resistance? And if the die is already cast, why not figure out a way to prosper?
The problem is PRECEDENT.
Democrats always ask for wiggle-room on issues like illegal immigration.
Once they get their exception, they argue PRECEDENT to bypass laws, rules, and traditions.
Once the camels' nose gets under the tent, the tent collapses.
NEVER ALLOW DEMOCRATS TO ESTABLISH "PRECEDENT".
Once a wall is built, the illegal immigration and the protests will stop. The game will be over. How many protests have you seen to take down parts of the existing wall? None. CNN showed us the wall in Brownsville TX. There was peace and quiet.
Yup.
Never be “reasonable” - because what’s reasonable one day is status quo the next day and forever.
There’s the regulatory-legal side of this and then there’s the political side.
Trump is balancing the two. Since the media is lined-up against him along with everyone else, “kids in dog crates” has the potential to cause him to lose re-election...it’s a minefield despite how simple some FReepers like to make it seem.
“”Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen,””
I don’t know how she got the job. She looks puzzled when she’s asked any question - always appears to be in a fog without a clear understanding of what is going on around her. I don’t base my opinion on what happened at the hearing where Harris jumped all over her. That was uncalled for and she handled that ok. It’s just a weird vibe I get from her. I never see her without thinking “why does she have that job?” Maybe a “deer in the headlights” would be a better description.
I like Kobach’s ideas and the president definitely should listen to him AND he should be in the cabinet!!!
