we’ve now got a senior Labor person (Tanya Plibersek - Deputy Leader of the Labor Party) on the ABC and she isn’t conceding defeat.
Senator Penny Wong is Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, and their Shadow Foreign Minister. Basically number three in the party (after Shorten and Plibersek), and to try and put it in American terms, she’d likely be equivalent to the Secretary of State in a US government if Labor held office.
Wong is a carpet muncher who has likely been prevented from steering us in China’s direction as foreign minister
