Maybe because some of us think he was a communist trying to make America a communist country and he promoted that agenda. The truth is the truth no matter where it goes.

But nobody quotes or remembers him for any socialist beliefs -- the left themselves buried that. What people remember him for -- the reason he is seared into the national memory -- is what he said about race and treating people in a color-blind manner. That's what people remember, and that's what's being trashed when you trash him.

We ought to be quoting his statements on race 24/7, and jamming it down the throats of the leftists at every opportunity.

The bottom line, is it segregation gave a wonderful opportunity for cpusa to approach the black community and commiserate, and sympathize with them. Imagine a dirty lowdown next door neighbor quick the capitalize on it when you beat your wife. Yeah, he’s a dirty low-down no good guy. But if you weren’t beating your wife he wouldn’t have any easy way in. The advocates of separate but equal, Jim Crow, sitting in the back of the bus, segregated schools etc were the best friends the KGB ever had. They might as well have gotten the check in the mailbox from Moscow by helping advance the communist cause in America. Kkk hoods may as well have been red.
