King David (man after God’s own heart) did worse than MLK in having a man killed to conceal his lustful adulterous affair with Bathsheba. Neither David nor MLK sought to overthrow through lies the king/president. Both flawed men promoted God and His Word instead of trying to expunge Him out of society like the current crop of no good Rats.
You make an interesting argument there.
We conservatives sharply criticize liberals for tearing down imperfect people. For example, Roseanne Barr sent out some sort of “racist” tweet. So erase her!
We should hesitate in doing the same. I, for one, try to look at the totality of the person. These alleged acts by MLK were - if true - more than just wrong. They were criminal. Would that be enough to erase all the good he did, in trying to bring the races together?
I don’t know. But I’m not ready to hit the erase button just yet.
God had David marked for death unless he repented
David repented but God still punished him so severely that the punishment left him saddened and guilt ridden for the rest of his life
And here is the kicker, the Messiah will be from the seed of David

What King David did was made public knowledge and he suffered greatly for it. MLK Jr is said to poop flowers and no one is allowed to call him imperfect. I think it is the media image of MLK Jr that folks are dissing.
If I had been a black man in 1960, I’d have preferred Malcolm X to MLK. I find him a much more interesting person, and appreciate that folks admit he was a flawed human being.
