The Republic Is Collapsing: The Time to Act Is Now
PJ Media ^ | 10 July 2019 | David Solway

Posted on 07/11/2019 1:28:28 PM PDT by Rummyfan

Commenting on Rush Limbaugh’s passionate denunciation of the spirit of anti-American leftism that is destroying the country, Lloyd Marcus, who blogs at The Unhyphenated American, agrees that the time has come to say “No!” He concludes, with Limbaugh, “It is time that we take action to take back our country. It is time that we say no to anti-American traitors and anti-biblical cultural assassins.”

This is a sentiment that cannot honorably be refuted. The problem is trying to decide what saying “No!” actually means. Merely saying “No!” is obviously a futile gesture and will produce little to nothing in the way of results. The question is how to translate “No!” into action. Debate and discussion with any of the manifestations of the left is a non-starter since the left does not debate or discuss. It adheres to a rigid orthodoxy that will allow no reconsideration or reflection on the putative axioms it regards as sacred. It is, in essence, the contemporary version of Bolshevism. The left will lie, slander, cheat and commit violence to further its goals. Its mind is deadbolted shut.

Thanks! This is actually a good and timely article that offers a solution.

The author compares what Trump and our nation faces today with that in Lincoln's time.

He lays out a decent argument to support what appears to be his bottom line, which is:
If this is not a clear and present danger that portends the death of a nation and the eventual birth of a Marxist-like dictatorship, then nothing is.

Those who might think we have more than a single man, DJT, supported by relatively speaking no more than a scant team of experienced operators had better take a good look around the countryside.

To put it bluntly, the time for “fooling around” is now over. Before the Union begins to materially crumble, as Charles Murray warns in Falling Apart, and before certain states consider the option of secession, the president must act with all the legitimate force that he commands.

Unfortunately, the author apparently forgets that Mr. Trump is the nominal leader of the Stupid Party: no remedial action is likely to occur in Washington, District of Columbia. State secession is probably a more viable alternative, if it can be accomplished constitutionally - but I doubt the Dishonest Party would ever allow it, especially if it were a Blue State (like California) departing...

“He must use the means at his disposal, as did Lincoln, to confront the domestic enemies of the republic with uncompromising force: to declare Antifa an enemy of the state and arrest its financial backers on grounds either of sedition or treason, to be determined by a military tribunal; to bring Democrat politicians who have betrayed the nation ... before the courts; and to de-license journalists and their media organizations that are in clear violation of the SPJ Code of Ethics.”

I agree. Unfortunately none of our politicians including Trump are capable of doing any of this. Trump — bless him — means well but he has not established any political coalitions. Thus he is politically isolated.

Quite the opposite, the author seems quite aware Trump has been denied the benefit of a strong and supportive R party.

Perhaps you missed the the final sentence of the article:
"Executive Orders are now indispensable. Mr. Trump, act!"

Your statement, that I would dispute, makes it sound like "game over".

Fortunately for the overwhelming number of us, Trump is not a quitter and has an enormous amount of government assets at his disposal. IMO, the only thing that will stop him is an impeachment effort supported by treasonous R's.

Have a nice evening.

Sure — the tweets will continue. But no one including Trump is not going to do any of those things mentioned in the article. Trump is reluctant to even fire members of his own cabinet much less arrest political enemies.

The reason Trump cannot arrest the communists is that he will be accused of political oppression. And we all know where that goes.
The lefts assault on christendom, borders, free speech, rule of law, reducing law enforcement, unlimited support for illegal aliens, constant further movement to the left, ad infinitu, is designed for one purpose only; to wear us down. They have the media to provide the constant drumbeat. They hope to push us over the edge into the beginning of a civil war. Followed by the declaration of martial law, the oppression and disarming of the civilian population.
The left cannot be stopped with the ballot as they have corrupted the election process. Youbetter face the fact that there is only one way to save this country. Most peopledo not have the stomach for it. When the comming civil war start it must not be alloed to be stopped by martial law. It will require the commitment to see it through tothe bitter end. Never again must the eils that have led us to this point in history be allowed to exist in thiscountry again. Sounds hard doesn’t it. It is deadly serious.

“The reason Trump cannot arrest the communists is that he will be accused of political oppression.”

That is correct. But if Trump really believes what he tweets and really believes politicians and the MSM are committing treason and he has the evidence then he should take action. Too many people are throwing around this term “treason” lightly.

I did not miss the reference to "Executive Orders". Unfortunately, history suggests that a significant number of Stupid Party congress-critters would side with the Dishonest Party, and oppose Mr. Trump's orders (possibly to the point of supporting impeachment, as perverse & irrational as that would be). I hope Mr. Trump succeeds, and look forward to supporting him in the next presidential campaign, but won't bet my life savings on either (given the GOPe tendency to seize defeat from the jaws of victory)...

You’ll appreciate my user name.
You’re the first poster I’ve seen (just that I’ve come across) that is saying the same thing I am. In fact, just at dinner I was speaking to my family about this.
It does not seem that we are making progress through legislation - borders change and I fully expect to see some secession
