Pelosi’s cheering section on twitter thinks this was a super strategic move on Pelosi’s part. They say Pelosi had to know what she was doing, and did it deliberately even though she knew what would happen.

That is a valid conclusion. Nancy does not want the horror show of impeachment and this was touted as a prelude to finally get renewed traction for impeachment hearings. Pelosi knows her business and these renegades should enjoy their moment of perceived high relevance. They will not have the last word.
