Well played.
Tulsi Gabbard has served in the military, for which she has more respect than most of the other Democrats. And I agree with her on this.
Minor v. Happersett was a case about sufferage. It had nothing to do with Natural Born Citizenship. Minor, a natural born female citizen, wanted to vote. Her state said that she could not as she was a woman. The Supreme Court said that denying women the vote was perfectly Constitutional.
And also a HONKLER.
Good point. A CIC cant be SO worried “about the cost of human life” that they fail to secure the country (which always demands cost of human life).
No disrespect to Gabbard’s service, but I didn’t see anything in her record to indicate that she’s CIC material, either.
Every official swears the oath requiring them to support and defend the Constitution. That doesnt mean defer to Supeme Courts opinion, nor does it mean wait until Supreme Court issues an opinion on a matter. If a President or Governor or Mayor, for example, sees abortion as depriving a person of their life without due process, their oath to support and defend the Constitution means they should use every power they have to shut down abortion providers and abortifacient drug distribution. Trump could have shut down every abortion facility, but he seems to defer to the Supreme Court. Im grateful every day that Hillary Clinton isnt President, but shame on Trump for not supporting and defending the Constitution in this matter, and shame on us, The People, for not demanding that no person shall be deprived of their life without due process.
Chief Justice Waite enunciated very clearly the common understanding of the term.
I wonder why you want to see the natural protections of the natural born citizen clause undermined.
The letter that John Jay wrote to Washington insisting on natural born citizen spells out the reason, eliminating foreign influence on the CIC.
The children of foreign nationals are PRECISELY who they were excluding.
De-chroming bumper hitches, too...
That’s a good argument, but it means nothing. Your assertions are presented as facts. They are not, it’s one side of a never ending argument that will likely never be resolved. If Kamala Harris is nominated, I predict that her name will be on the ballot in all 50 states and for those states that she carries, her electors will cast their votes for her. She will fall short of the required 270 votes.
Gabbard is indisputably a US CITIZEN. She is not a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN within the meaning of Article II, Section one, clause five of the US constitution.
Therefore she is not constitutionally eligible to assume the office of POTUS.
I figure that is exactly what she is hinting at when saying “not qualified to serve as commander-in-chief”. Harris is an anchor baby with parents who were not US citizens. She is Jamacan and Indian.
Tulsi is the least worst of the Dems but I doubt she has any chance of getting the nomination.
Barack Obama’s name appeared on all 50 state ballots. Dozens of lawsuits were filed challenging his eligibility. Every single one of them was dismissed. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome.
Why do we have all of these wanna bes running for president? Rubio, Cruz, Haley, Harris, Gabbard, etc. Have they no respect for our constitution?
The SCOTUS hheld that Virginia Minor was a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN by virtue of her birth to 2 citizen parents in one of the United states. That is the significance of that case with regard to Article II POTUS eligibility. The definition of what constitutes an NBC.
Remember, we got birthright citizenship to ILLEGAL ALIENS because of a FOOTNOTE by that bas-turd John Paul Stevens in the Plyer vs Doe SCOTUS decision.
Apparently, she is a Hare Krishna follower.
>>I spent 25 years in the military. I dont think it gives me any special insight into handling Iran or China.<<
Yep, I’m a 24 year veteran and feel the same way...other than I know Iran & China are run by a bunch of @$$h0!e$.
