In a recent study in Nature Climate Change, Danielle Lawson, a postdoctoral student at NC State University, and her colleagues found that putting middle-school children in a class about climate change could influence their parents views on the subject. The effects were the strongest on conservative fatherssignificant because conservative white men have been previously shown to have the lowest levels of climate concern.
Lawson called this a case of "intergenerational learning," or the transfer of behavior and knowledge from children to parents. She thinks their study was successful partially because ideology and political identity have become so conflated with the climate crisis. When the children talked to their parents, it didn't carry the same baggage as if another adult tried to talk to your parents about global warming.
"But typically when a parent is interacting with their child, they don't view their child through this lens of having an agenda," Lawson said. "It makes for a unique opportunity to open up conversation in a way that we struggle with in normal day to day life."

My credo. I will much, much sooner take my chances with the perils of (alleged) global warming, than I would with a fully empowered, globalist, totalitarian government.
Ooh sounds sounds serious. Fractions are so mathematical. It must be true.
In the 70’s, we high schoolers did not accept the coming Ice Age BS.
Climate change: 12 years to save the planet? Make that 18 months (Oh noes!!!)
Maybe the other Warmers didn't want you to know. Only so much room in the survival bunker ya know.
“...her colleagues found that putting middle-school children in a class about climate change could influence their parents views on the subject. The effects were the strongest on conservative fathers....”
That Has to be BS.
Remind your grand kids how the 1975 Coming Ice Age was supposed to be now.
AlGore said 2005 was the end.
No grandkids yet but my kids are completely indoctrinated by the truth.
As my sons first boss at NASA told him. Climate change is a bunch of hooey.
She screamed out loud "Dad!" and looked at my brother-in-law for support. He knew not to say anything to me. They went back to Colorado. My niece switched her college major from environmental science to something else, so maybe I got her to question what she was being taught in school. And none of the climate change warnings came true, including coastal cities being underwater within 10 years. The younger generations are being misled by leftist teachers.
These types have falsely fearmongered so many times that most people dont pay attention to their fearmongering anymore. Now they seem to be promoting subtle indoctrination techniques to promote it. Theyd get much farther if they were a lot more reasonable with their predictions of doom, open to debating opposing arguments and evidence, and less driven by their emotions.
My Mom said she had no idea we were taught of a coming Ice Age back then.
The kids I interact with at church mostly understand that it’s a scam.
It did help that the whole ice age crapola didn’t last for more than a few years before they pretty much dropped it. Once Reagan got in it pretty much went away as one of their favorite fear generating tactics.
Can we please, PLEASE, get a definitive date on how much time we have left ??
not too much to ask, right?
Yep, and remember the same old tired policy prescription— more socialism and more power to the self-appointed “smart people.”
> In the 70s, we high schoolers did not accept the coming Ice Age BS.
That’s why they need to get to them in middle-school.
Any father, especially a supposed Conservative one, who allows his prepubescent children to change his mind about ANYTHING, was NEVER a Conservative, is a brain dead MORON, a LOUSY father, and should NEVER have reproduced!
Somebody really needs to make a list of all the Global Warming Hucksters so we can ALL SUE Them into Homelessness as soon as the effects of the current Maunder Minimum are realized in about 1-2 years from now.
