The District of Columbia's new Catholic leader - the country's lone black archbishop - on Thursday issued his first public statement since his installation, lambasting President Donald Trump's recent tweets about members of Congress of color as "diminishing our national life." Wilton Gregory, who came to Washington in May, is known through his long, prominent career for being nonconfrontational on hot-button issues in public, but working quietly behind the scenes - a model similar to the man he replaced, Cardinal Donald Wuerl. But on Thursday, Gregory signaled that he wants to use his higher-profile perch in the nation's capital to challenge the use of identity - racial, national origin or otherwise - as a tool of attack.

I believe the only thing that may enable the Church to come back is to allow priests to marry and women to become priests.
And the reason is: you can no longer support the Church with the kind of weak men that celibacy attracts.
Pastors in Protestant churches and evangelical communities have been able to keep their stock strong.
A few countries, such as Poland, are able to supply men of solid stock for the church. We welcome them, but the their population is not enough.
It would also be nice to draw priests from successful people who have lived some time on this Earth and proven their character.

Many in the Atlanta Archdiocese were happy to get this clown out of Atlanta. He was pro sodomite and put many pro sodomite priests in key roles. He invited Father James Martin (another pro sodomite) to speak in Atlanta. Naturally Gregory is closely aligned with Francis and his gay cabal. Pray for the Church.

IMHO it would help if they would confine their activities to the teaching of religion to willing recipients and get out of other activities such as the political, SJW, and refugee resettlement money making business.

Not much. He is much more focused on gay inclusivity, climate change and immigration. Things that get him praises in the press and among the democrats he hobs knobs with.

I believe the emphasis should be on the message, not how popular is the messenger.
