In the wake of the mass shooting in Texas over the weekend, the liberal media did their predictable song and dance calling for staunch gun control measures. This time around, ABCs Sunday Good Morning America whined about Texas loosening their gun laws to make it easier for law-abiding citizens to protect themselves. Meanwhile, on NBCs Sunday Today, political director Chuck Todd seemed almost thankful that the shooting put gun control front and center again.
During ABCs coverage of the shooting, correspondent Rachel Scott gave the topic of gun control positive spin by dubbing it gun reform. And complained about President Trumps mixed signals and conversations with the NRA:
The President has sent mixed signals on where he stands on that front. Following the shootings in El Paso and Dayton, the President said there was a strong appetite for meaningful background checks. But then after a call with the NRA, he said, strong background checks already exist.
Scott touted the Democrat-controlled House Judiciary Committees plans to discuss gun control legislation. But reminded viewers, the House has already passed two background check bills and chastised the Senate because theyve failed to act. Yet, its still unclear how the Texas shooter got his weapons.
Of course, Scott failed to mention the fact that so-called universal background checks wouldnt have stopped any of the recent mass shootings.

Good. The world can’t afford another Venezuela.
So, no ‘reformation’ drive then? :-)
“reform”
Odd word to use when describing the loss of civil rights.
Oddly enough, events that highlight the threat of crazy people, criminals and terrorists don’t create an urge to get rid of the means to defend yourself.
Not to worry. With the increase in “red flagging”, the govt will relieve you of the means to defend yourself.
True except the liberals from California that moved there.
See Austin
And Texas whines that ABC moves in the opposite direction of Truth.
“reform
Odd word to use when describing the loss of civil rights.”
I remember at the very end of the attempt to force Hillary-care down our throats, Dan Rather called it “Health Insurance Reform” (I just about jumped out of my chair). Apparently they too had done their focus group work, but far too late in that case. For guns, expect no end of focus-group tested crap from them.
Hey Rachel Scott - if crazies (the first people affected by culture breakdown) were poisoning citizens would your solution be 'poison reform'?
AND if it was Rachel would you ask everyone to give up all household cleaning solutions to 'solve the problem'?
Are you stupid Rachel Scott? Is anyone that stupid? Can you step back from the liberal plantation and think for yourself Rachel? Just once?
Any word on the identity of the shooter yet? Has his social media been completely scrubbed yet?
Supposedly presser in 15 min will ID shooter.
Back when the Westward expansion was going on and organized law enforcement was stretched thin, everyone carried a gun for protection. We may be headed back to that strategy. Or, all law-abiding people can just turn in their guns and be helpless in front of all the lawless people who did not.
There is a name for a society where only the police have guns. It is called a police state. The Second
Amendment in the Bill of Rights is not about duck hunting, any more than the First Amendment is about
playing Scrabble. The entire Bill of Rights is about individual freedom. -Henry Bowman
Whenever ANY government uses the word “ control “, sirens go off.
Virtually every major political disaster of the last 170 years has been the result of an overreaching central government in the District of Columbia.
As a Texan, my concern here is all the suburban soccer moms who are easily scared and get their info from the MSM. It’s a large voting block.
