To make it even more confusing, most people probably do not even realize that Israel has a President, named President Reuven Rivlin. Obviously a rather unimportant political position in the Israeli government.

But here stands the latest knesset seat breakdown:

The Central Election Committee (CEC) announced around 1:30 a.m. Friday the “almost final” results of the elections. The results confirmed the latest results reported, giving Benny Gantz’s Blue and White 33 seats and Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud 31 seats.

The committee explained that the results cannot be considered official, since official results will only be presented to President Reuven Rivlin and published on September 25.

Bibi can still win the PM by securing 61 people to form a government.

Gantz can also become the PM is he secures 61 people to form a government

61 is the magic number to secure a majority out of 120 seats in the Knesset. If neither can secure a majority, then Israel heads into a 3rd election. Which seems to not favor Bibi, or Lukid for that matter.
