The article says "subpoena" and "letter", but does not quote any Dem as saying the word"subpoena". The old 'gotcha' media trick.
So what did Milkdud Cummings actually send, a letter or a subpoena?
Oh, these Commies do understand how this works. They are creating the illusion of “Impeachment” to influence those Voters who are not fully up to speed about the facts. “Low Information Voters”, if you will.
They know that having a formal vote in the House will only blow up in their faces in the coming election. The American People do NOT want President Trump impeached just because the Commies lost in 2016.
These are NOT subpoenas. The House must first vote and approve before a subpoena is issued. What was sent to the WH was a letter requesting (or or demanding) info.
The WH should simply ignore them.

The House does have a quasi-prosecutorial power too, which is the power to impeach. This is separate from the power to legislate.
The oversight / draft legislation function is delegated to committees; with delegation of subpoena power sufficient to complete those oversight functions. The subpoena power for impeachment investigations has not been delegated. It resides with the whole House.
It'll be interesting to see if the DEMs are willing to vote Contempt of Congress for violation of subpoenas issued in conjunction with an impeachment inquiry. No court would enforce the demand letters.
What's really happening is the press has usurped the impeachment power. And man, are they ever eager to use it!!
Do what that a-hole Obama did: ignore it all and carry on. The obvious difference is that Obama and company SHOULD have been impeached and imprisoned and they are the ones trying to destroy the current President.
