The author uses two terms for the same document, subpoena and letter.
These are not subpoenas these committees are issuing requesting document from the WH. They are simple demand letters.
If this was relating to a legal proceeding, the subpoenas would have to be honored.
But since this whole matter is a political charade, demand letters are destined for the round file in the WH.
