If, as the great Abraham Lincoln once said, "A house divided against itself cannot stand," then the American experiment may well and truly be hosed.
The House finally got around to making the latest witch hunt formal, voting mostly along party lines to move the impeachment inquiry forward.
I use to be one of those "Hey, we survived the Civil War, we'll get through this" optimists when it came to America's future. This past year may not have killed that optimism, but it has worn it down a bit.
There isn't an adult of sound mind in this country who sees all of this playing out in a way that sees a bunch of Republicans finally deciding that the president needs to go or the Democrats finally admitting defeat in their attempts to prematurely oust him.
Face it, we don't like each other much anymore, the Right and Left in America. We've been heading toward this for a while. I blame Hillary Clinton, partially because she's so adept at being unlikeable, but mostly because I believe she is more than likely Satan's latest incarnation on Earth.

I really disagree with the article’s premise. The fault here is the deep state, ie a group of unelected officials who have grown over time into a power base of their own, who as Chuck Schumer put it, will get back at you six ways to Sunday (or whatever).

a major gift from Trump has been the exposure of our "elite" as self-interested cheaters - that includes the media, all Dems, the State dept, the intelligence community, and the GOP leadership from 2006 - 2019. All of these groups have burned up way more goodwill and acceptance from the voters than they realize.

Somewhere online is a compilation of violence directed at Trump supporters. The list is big and growing. And the anger and fear from those of us who see this evil attacking our freedoms our way of life from religion to speech to self defense is also growing.
Something must happen this time. It can’t be business as usual any longer. The Rubicon has been crossed.
If big players in the DS aren’t outed and indicted for their crimes, especially this soft coup, if President Trump is impeached or worse, how will this manifest? The anger and simmering fear underneath is volcanic .
My opinion is that there is there is something coming to a head that is past the point of no return. To further bolster my point, Louis Ghomert on The House floor also mentioned Civil War coming. I pray more now for the President than I ever have before. And I hope that my fears never pan out.

I just have this vision of the brown shirts chasing anyone down and beating them, smashing windows, ransacking places.
You can’t rule out some rogue who gets into the WH and hurts Trump. I’m aghast as to how these people are able to roam around so close to him.
They’d be martyrs in the eyes of the left if they were able to harm him,
But otherwise, these people like Schiff and the others are cowards. They’re two bit con men who know the wind of change is coming.
Barr, Horowitz and Durham have to hit these people hard. That’s the only way the union will be saved.
It’s got to be large and all encompassing in its breath of indictment.
We need to prosecute and win a case or two on these people, and they’ll all turn like a house of cards against each other.
