WASHINGTON, Nov 4 (Reuters) - Two U.S. career diplomats told the Trump impeachment inquiry that they did not feel supported by the State Department under President Donald Trump and that the department was being used for domestic political purposes, according to transcripts of their testimony released on Monday.
The Democratic-led House of Representatives investigation into the Republican president is focused on a phone call in July in which Trump asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to investigate political rival Joe Biden, a former vice president and contender for the Democratic Party nomination to run against him in the November 2020 election...
"There is no reason to call witnesses to analyze my words and meaning," Trump tweeted on Monday.

No sh!t sherlock! Making US Foreign policy of America First is Trump's domestic political purpose. And the President is the one that sets foreign policy.
It’s funny. I believe LTC Vindman was upset about the President’s Ukrainian phone call because he felt the President was subverting US foreign policy.
Note to Vindman: The President sets US foreign policy. Lieutenant Colonels do not.
Like the CIA, FIB, NSC and others, Foggy Bottom desperately needs to be Phoenixed.
Let the traitors keep outting themselves.
Awww! Pobrecitos! They no like BadOrangeMan policy!
Keening, Wailing and gnashing of teeth
“There is no reason to call witnesses to analyze my words and meaning”
That’s all that needed to be said
The Obama administration, including all Obama’s appointees as Secretary of State, constantly used the State Department for “domestic political purposes”. The difference was that the State Department bureaucrats were not opposed to such purposes under Obama.
They were investigating corruption.
That’s anti-Democrat!
No, they didn't. I didn't see or hear them testify.
If this is true, so what? 0bama did it too.
And the CIA. Which IS illegal.

Inevitably, they would point to the country of their posting. Schultz would explode in a "No! dammit!" and point to the United States. "This is the country you will be representing and don't you ever forget it!"
Relocate the state dept to western Oklahoma.

That name should tell you a great deal
Were any laws violated? No. Indeed, domestic politics influences foreign policy all the time and in a multitude of ways. And since the Constitution puts the President in primary charge of foreign policy, that necessarily means that the President’s domestic political considerations will influence foreign policy.
Once again, Progressive wannabe-tyrants falsely accusing others of doing what their side was/is in fact doing.
Obama and a variety of his senior leaders used the powers of fed departments, and national technical means, and the judicial department, to attack his political opponent and an opponent of Progressive ideology.
Do they have smoky grass fires out there like eastern Okla.?
[Smokey vs. foggy may be a wash...]
Dear whinny liberal odunga hold overs serving in the Department of State, repeat after me, “I serve at the pleasure of the President of the United States.
Ding, ding, ding....we have a winner, don’t go away mad, just go away.
Alternately, they could be Phoenixed, just west, in Ariz. ...
;-)
These pouting whiners take ignorance to a whole new level-the president gets to say what foreign policy is-and it isn’t about some obscure 05’s feeling that he’s been slighted-or anyone else’s, for that matter...
Also.... keep this in mind....
This is Reuters making claims regarding what an Adam Schiff staffer claims was said during the secret happening in the House SCIF.
Bear in mind that there may have been no State Department employees who said no such things.
Yes, by them!
