For many on the left, the Trump impeachment has been as much and as passionate the dream of three years as was the Zionist Dream of 2,000 Years (“Hatikvah”) for Jews to return as a free people back to the Biblical land from which the Romans had banished Jewish life. The Washington Post dreamed of impeachment immediately — from Day One on January 20, 2017. Rep. Al Green never stopped pushing for it. The attorney representing the so-called “whistleblower,” who in reality has blown no whistle on anything, pronounced the start of the “coup” right away.
The problem for the Democrats now is that there is a time and place for everything, even ridiculous things, and they have been so focused on impeachment for so long that they do not realize that, at least for now, their impeachment time has passed even if Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff feel they finally have the president in their “wheelhouse.” One is reminded of Shoichi Yokoi, the Japanese WWII sergeant, still holding out for the emperor in 1972, and all the others who still refused to concede Japan’s WWII defeat into the 1980s and beyond.

Politics at Thanksgiving dinner table were surprisingly amicable this year.
Folks outside of the family there were leftists.
But they said that Trump treats the military folks well and they all had military folks in their families.

Nothing in politics ever works out quite as anticipated. But a cataclysmic disaster, a veritable Schiff Storm, is looming for the Democrats in November 2020. They have walked right into it without ever seeing it coming squarely at them.
That is encouraging but we’ll see who pulls the trigger at election time and votes their conscience instead of party line.
I agree about the author needing to get to the point. The other very real issue, at least in my mind, is the fable of the boy who cried wolf. Now Nadler is going to bring up obstruction charges etc. I am about sick of a four year investigation of Trump. After the 2020 election Trump, if he wins, will be bullet proof. America will be bored beyond tears. Nobody will want to investigate Trump for anything. I think Pelosi May well lose the House. The Democratic Presidential candidates make lack luster and mediocre a goal to strive for and a very high bar! I don’t see a way out for the Democrats.

The democRATS don't learn their lessons well but what they do know best is their relentless attacks on the opposition, in this case Trump.
I don't think the democRATS will stop going after Trump to try and remove him from office or to hamstring him from doing his job, even if he wins the 2020 election.
They don't care about optics. They're blinded by their hatred for Trump and will continue to go after him is some way or another.
Remember they are making stuff up about him now to try and remove him from the WH. Why would you think they will change after he elected again?
What hopefully will change, is that Trump will be holding the cards for all of the traitors who conspired to carry out this soft coup and the tables may turn on the democRATS.
But given history, I wouldn't even count on that giving him the upper hand.
Unfortunately, the dems do have a way out. It is called election fraud.

The folks who would have tried to slam Trump have already had many ‘discussions” with me - they knew that if they didn’t have any actual facts on which to base their opinions/presumptions, they would end up red-faced, stuttering, and so pissed their food wouldn’t digest.....things were very amicable....while i smiled and enjoyed the repast.
