Twitter chief Jack Dorsey announces plans to move to Africa

Twitter chief Jack Dorsey said this week that he plans to move to Africa for up to six months next year. The tech executive announced the planned move following a month-long trip visiting entrepreneurs on the continent.

“Sad to be leaving the continent … for now. Africa will define the future (especially the bitcoin one!),” Dorsey tweeted from Addis Ababa on Wednesday. “Not sure where yet, but I’ll be living here for 3-6 months mid 2020. Grateful I was able to experience a small part.”

Asked for comment, Twitter said in an email: “We’ve nothing to share beyond Jack’s initial tweet.”

Dorsey began traveling Africa on 8 November and visited Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa, CNN reported.

In Ethiopia, he listened to startup pitches. In Nigeria, he had meetings with entrepreneurs and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, a Twitter board member who formerly worked as managing director of the World Bank.

I recommend northern Nigeria, Somalia or Soweto in South Africa.

Maybe he can experience peaceful Islamic cult terrorism up close and personal. That might change his views and approach on Twitter.

Actually Twitter is one of Trump’s BEST weapons.

Reaching 60 million in an INSTANT.

They HATE THAT.

And social media has really hurt the msm talking heads.

But you are right. Their money and power will be a negative in the end.

When you have failed and corrupt government , you need something like bitcoin or barter to replace currency and banks.

When you are a billionaire, almost anywhere can be “paradise”, even Ethiopia. You can afford a huge walled estate, gardens, fountains, slaves (I mean servants), limousines, drivers, and the small private army required to protect it all. Pretty expensive when it is all said and done, but you get to brag about how “woke” you are while you exploit an impoverished continent.

He's rich enough to travel anywhere he likes, and the nature of his business is such that it can be done anywhere there's internet access.

Basically rich guy conspicuous consumption, working vacation, and maybe a bit of "woke" public relations.

And in fact not every African country is a hellhole if you happen to be a rich foreigner spreading it around.

For one thing if he’s there over 30 days, his year of taxes to federal government is zero. Not that he pays taxes now but that could be the reason.
