Investors worry that a successful Democrat bid for the White House in 2020 would spark a stock market meltdown, with some saying by as much as 40%.
Dalio, who shared the stage with Jones, echoed his perspective.
“I’m just mechanistic, so I go through the calculations, and if you take away the way corporate taxes have been changed, the undoing of that, that’s worth 7 or 8 percent. If you take the changes in the GAAP accounting, so changes in the taxes, taxes for corporations, that’s worth about 15 percent of earnings and therefore, would drop it on that basis alone. If you take, then, the wealth tax, that’s $2.8 trillion over 10 years, and that’ll have an effect.”
Jones predicted Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) would, like Warren, push the S&P down to 2,250. Given a Nov. 1 valuation of 3,050 for that index, this would signify a 26 percent drop. Joe Biden and Pete Buttigieg, according to Jones, would cause the S&P to dip by 11.5 percent to 2,700.
Muir said that because some of Warren’s more extreme policies would likely not make it to implementation, “a 20 percent drop is a much more reasonable expectation” in the event of a Warren win.
“He had them both at 2,250, but I suspect Bernie isn’t going to be quite as bad,” Muir said.

Farmers in this area have switched from corn and tomatoes to Sod. They are not spending the money on irrigation and specialized equipment because they think the market for their product is going to crash.

Not to mention the rich will be bailing overboard in droves. I would. A freakin commie like Sanders or Warren who wants to take all my money so they can give free health care to the entire world and reparations to illegals?? Like hell they will.
There’ll be more to worry about if Trump loses to any Dem.
Their Industry is one of risks.....each to his own how he assesses that. I have family who have farmed.... watches the markets daily still....Trade uncertainty for some is unsettling but they know Trumps going for the long haul.

You are correct on every count. Remember those precincts where Obama got 100% of the vote? Not a single person out of thousands voted Republican. Well, nobody investigated any of that. Nobody cared. So why shouldn’t the Democrats just do it again?
Hillary lost in 2016 because she got lazy, and overconfident. That WON’T happen again in 2020. We will see cheating that would make Stalin blush. And that’s why I would not bet on a Trump re-election.

If someone like Warren wins and the Rats take both houses, those borders are going to open up like a fire hose, it’s going to be an utter nightmare.
I agree.....Rats are far too focused on cheesy social issues which have xero meaning if people can’t provide for their familes..... we’re in a good upswing but we need 4 more years of Trump to ground it all.
