Color me skeptical, but they do not look like American troops. The uniforms do not look correct, their uniforms are devoid of the American flag, and they are all black males. Just seems like it is not what it is being sold as.
Our unit did riot training once and it was tense. Some of us were issued shotguns which work very well in this situation and long guns above. Don’t underestimate the power of CS gas. It’s nasty. It’s all about control and who is “boss”. We never saw the Green Zone but I have been witness to organized and spontaneous “riots” in various sh*holes.
Why is he the only journalist with such access? I can find no other source for this kind of coverage. Which is another red falg for me too.

I think that there will be several more tests over the next couple of weeks. They will continue until they are crushed either economically or militarily by the US.
I am glad cooler heads prevailed rather than letting the Marines going full auto on the crowd. Mark my words, within the next few weeks, US military will go full auto and full grenade on Iran proxies somewhere within the Middle East.

The Marines can’t fire, so unless the Ambasador with the OK of Washington allows it, they are just there for show.

At least ten M61s or M134s on flexible mounts and 50,000-100,000 rounds of ammo per gun should be standard minimum issue for our embassies in dangerous countries.
When that distinctive buzzing noise appears and what looks like a Hollywood rapid fire laser starts scything through the attacking mobs, said mobs usually leave. Also useful against helicopters, aircraft and soft skinned vehicles.
With the White House under new management, there will be no defenseless embassies. God bless these young heroes.
