We have been at war with Iran for about 4 decades, its not over, but I think Trump deescalated it for a bit.
If anything, this proved the Iranians are not that bright in the first place, who puts their 2nd in command out on the battlefield in a foreign land like that? Its amateur hour.

There is a story about that a while ago the Ayatollah declined some significant international action (my memory not too clear) and Suleymani told him to act or he would overthrow him in a coup - and the Ayatollah acted.
