Details are still coming in, but Iran has launched a massive missile attack against U.S. forces in Iraq, including Al Asad Air Base, in retaliation for the American drone strike that killed Qasem Soleimani, a top Iranian commander, last week. A major rocket barrage on Al Asad, which sits around 115 miles west of Baghdad, may have also preceded the strikes. U.S. President Donald Trump has already threatened a major response, including potential strikes on cultural sites, against Iran in the event of any such attack.

Folks may want to cool their jets, this smells like geopolitics. Iranians *have* to do something to save face. I’d wager they targeted the back-ass ends of these bases to actually limit any causualties. This may allow both sides to back down to a simmer. Iranians “did” something, but it looks like it was intentionally ineffective.

You can’t blow up nuclear material. You just wind up blowing it all over the place, potentially, with possible meltdowns, sending fallout into regions we probably don’t want to have fallout.
To get rid of their material, we’re going to have to walk in and carry it out like we did with the soviet satellites.
Iranian gov and military have to go first.
Trump could always say he does not want war and a declaration would appear on his desk in about 2 minutes. The knee jerk reaction to oppose him would be automatic.
May I remind you of the number of weapons Americans have here in the United States and if the Muzz tries to pull some antics they will feel the pain

Now, that is some strategic thinking I can agree with. A little restraint from our side would go a long way, but I give that about 40% chance. How can you not retaliate without appearing weak?
If true, I would not want to be anywhere near an Iranian nuclear facility. A part of me feels this is a last ditch effort by those in control to maintain power. Destruction at home will unite the fanatics and force those more freedom leaning to comply or face death by neighbor.
