Musk is a genius at bilking taxpayers of our money and getting government to happily go along with it.

I assume you’ve heard the joke...
If someone steals a Tesla, does it then become an ‘Edison’?

Do your companies accomplish more than Musk’s companies?
Do they employ more Americans than Musk’s companies?

It’s comments like yours that make me realize that ideological Conservatives aren’t much better than ideological liberals.

The president is eliminating the gov’t subsidy for electric cars, wind mills, solar panels, etc...this was announced late last year.
Those subsidies, while wrong, do not take away from Musk’s accomplishments.
SpaceX being by far the most important. Tesla? Not so much. Other than providing him with excellent cash flow via the companies stock and the over priced fire starters on wheels that the libs love so much.

You seen the shuttle, the government could not have done this in a million years. What SpaceX has accomplished in a few years has moved mankind forward. I would rather have my money spent this way then on the billions in waste it currently does.

Some FReepers hate Musk so much they can’t stand any good news about him.
It reminds of the behavior of ideological liberals.

Ironic that President Trump would liken Musk (the maker of Tesla) with Edison, who became a rival of the real Tesla.
Edison was the better marketer and showman. Tesla was arguably the more brilliant of the two.
I don't fault Musk for pushing the electric car; he's capitalizing on a market trend, and making some innovations in doing so. I still think that at it's barest essence, the genius of Musk is geographically separating the smokestack from the coal powered car, and selling it as a clean alternative to fossil fuels.
