Report: Barr Names His Close Personal Confidant as U.S. Attorney in D.C. Who Will Handle “Highly Political” Cases

What’s really interesting is that Shea will be responsible for handling “highly politically charged cases.” Things that make you go “hmmm,” right?

Attorney General William Barr on Thursday named Timothy Shea, one of his closest advisers, to be the next top prosecutor in the nation’s capital.

Shea will lead the largest U.S. attorney’s office in the country, which has been historically responsible for some of the most significant and politically sensitive cases the Justice Department brings in the U.S.

He is a senior counselor to the attorney general and was Barr’s right-hand man helping institute reforms at the federal Bureau of Prisons after Jeffrey Epstein’s death at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City.

As the U.S. attorney in the District of Columbia, Shea would oversee some of the lingering cases from special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, along with a number of politically charged investigations. The office is also generally responsible for handling potential prosecutions if Congress finds a witness in contempt.

“Tim brings to this role extensive knowledge and expertise in law enforcement matters as well as an unwavering dedication to public service, reflected in his long and distinguished career in state and federal government,” Barr said in a statement. “His reputation as a fair prosecutor, skillful litigator, and excellent manager is second-to-none, and his commitment to fighting violent crime and the drug epidemic will greatly benefit the city of Washington.” [AP]

The timing of this and the choice is interesting.

One can’t help but wonder if this is a move made to support possible indictments and whatnot down the road pertaining to #SpyGate.

Just a few weeks ago William Barr sat down with NBC Today and said in no uncertain terms that the FBI acted in “bad faith” in regards to the Russia investigation.

The big news is that he is replacing US Attorney Jessie Liu, who let Comey and the Awann Bros skate. She is Max Deep State! He's putting in his own trusted prosecutor.

Us Attorney Durham has just made a similar move as well.

The cast is set; the lights are turned on and the show is about to begin. Federal Indictments are on the way!

And don’t be surprised if Barr goes after Adam Schiff once the smoke clears.

That’s putting it rather mildly.

Kind of a moot point though as you’ll never get a D.C. jury to convict any of ‘em.

Only Democrats can appoint their friends and family members to powerful positions.

I think this ball starts rolling after Nov election. If Trump wins, we get justice over the next 4 years, else game over

Maybe Trump’s SECOND TERM can be spent prosecuting, convicting, and jailing large segments of Obama’s staff?

“Federal Indictments are on the way!”

That would be more dramatic if we hadn’t been told that about 10,000 times in the last four years already.

I'm starting to have hope since Durham's inquiry is now an official CRIMINAL investigation. I understand why people are running out of patience, but with all the Deep State bad actors, Durham is going to have to dot every i and cross every t to get indictments. I'd be surprised there is not already a secret Grand Jury empaneled for at least the FISA corruption.

Well, this beats a sharp stick in the eye, but I’m not jumping up and down or holding my breath until my face turns blue.

What’s somewhat unclear to me, is, is this a case of filling an empty chair, or is a deep-state ne’er-do-well (or two) actually being displaced for ineffectiveness/corruption?

Forgive my pessimism, but after 3 years “handle” could very well mean coverups.

This. This pegs my BS meter. Barr is on record of asserting that Epstein DID kill himself. If Shea covered up the Epstein murder at MCC, then forget him.

Barr is just playing 3 card monte with us here.

“ Dishonest but not criminal.”

Along with the people he hired to help him he’s part of a conspiracy to commit treason.

Here’s hoping - Rush was explaining (as I have tried to tell some who are getting disillusioned) that they have to absolutely nail it or get swallowed up by the agencies that have a lot to lose - and he expects it may be early-mid Summer before indictments start rolling out.

When was Barr confirmed? Just less than a year?

kindof steep timeline to expect charges already.
