Did Obama’s DOJ Leak Michael Flynn’s Russia Phone Call To Set Him Up?

Did the Department of Justice leak or arrange the leak of Michael Flynn’s call with Sergey Kislyak to get around the FBI’s efforts to keep secret the investigation of Flynn?

One of the great mysteries of the Trump-Russia saga that remains unsolved three years later, or at least uncharged, is who leaked Gen. Michael Flynn’s calls with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

As incoming national security advisor, Flynn spoke with numerous foreign officials in the lead-up to inauguration. This included a conversation with Kislyak on Dec. 29, 2016 in which they discussed, among other things, measures taken by the Obama administration (also on Dec. 29) to expel Russian agents and levy financial penalties in response to Russia’s “malicious cyber-enabled activities” relating to the 2016 election.

Russian President Vladimir Putin publicly responded to these sanctions the next day. He declined to escalate the situation, promised there would be no retaliatory expulsions, and said he would “take further steps towards restoring Russia-U.S. relations.” According to the Statement of Offense filed in Flynn’s criminal case, on Dec. 31, Kislyak “called Flynn and informed him that Russia had chosen not to retaliate in response to Flynn’s request.”

Meanwhile, President Obama’s Presidential Daily Briefing (PDB) staff wondered why Putin didn’t retaliate. Andrew McCabe, who was serving as the FBI’s deputy director at the time, maintains that the PDB staff requested information on Putin’s response. The intelligence community answered. It turns out they had information on Flynn’s calls with Kislyak.

McCabe wrote that he shared this information with FBI Director James Comey, who passed it on to director of national intelligence James Clapper. It was Clapper who informed President Obama. The Department of Justice had this information as well. In his book, “The Threat,” McCabe noted that “at Justice, one question arose: Was this a violation

No doubt in my mind that this whole Flynn thing was a set up by the deep state.

More fake news. Flynn did not discuss those items. Kislyak asked about them, Flynn responded that those would have to be a topic for another day. This Orwellian twist is used to frame Flynn. In the eyes of the FBI, Rice and Pence, saying “We cannot discuss topic X”, is “discussing” topic X.

Flynn would have figured out pretty quickly what they had been up to and was the biggest threat to them.

Assume the worst and you will, most likely, be very close to reality.

I guess we’ll never know since they don’t seem to ever want to connect Obama to anything bad. Wasn’t he president or something during all this? He still comes out smelling like a rose while all the DC ghouls go after Trump. These cretins are even trying to claim it was Obama’s great economy that he left Trump.

Although I won't argue with your description of Schiff, at that time he was a nothing. He had no real power as the GOP under Paul Ryan controlled the House and under McConnell, the Senate.

Surely you're not suggesting a Republican could have set Flynn up? (/s)

A repub like Ryan who was trying to organize an effort to get Trump to pull out of the race when teh Access Hollywood tape hit? A repub like Ryan who was Mitt’s running mate and held a constant threat of impeachment over Trump if he fired anybody else after Comey?

Naaaaa... you’re imagining things.

If Flynn is guilty of violating the Logan Act, then John Kerry and Ted Kennedy should have been shot for High Treason in their secret and illegal talks with the Viet Cong/PRG/No. Vietnamese in Paris and with the Soviets in Moscow thru secret correspondence carried by the dumbest man to ever serve in the Senate, Sen. John Tunney (D-CA).

Obama’s dealing with Iran, esp. if Valerie Jarrett was involved, might have crossed the threshold of treason re “aiding and abetting a terrorist state/organization (IRGC)” when he gave them over $150 Billion secretly.

Where did they think the money would be going, to the Iranian Red Cross for earthquake victims?

Schiff had enough power to get Nunes recused as chair of Intel and investigated. Under the worthless pussy Ryan democrats were given much more power than they should have had. Schiff was still on the Intel committee and could have had access to all kinds of info to leak.

Did Obama’s DOJ Leak Michael Flynn’s Russia Phone Call To Set Him Up?>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Of course they did. They knew that they had a chance to suborn perjury by Flynn against the president. But Flynn, like Stone, Manaforte, Carter , and Popodopoulos all refused to lie about the President and remained loyal to President Trump. That fact stopped Mueller cold.

For that, they ALL deserve pardons or commutation of sentence, and reimbursement of legal fees.

I would be startled if someone showed me convincing evidence that the Flynn charges stemmed from anything but a deep state setup. The same for the vast majority of the Trump investigation. I think it’s likely that Ukraine was a setup from the start, where deep state operatives advised President Trump to ask for a Biden investigation that was based on valid concerns - but for the real purpose of then accusing our duly-elected president of improper conduct.

I used to immediately dismiss conspiracy theories that the FBI and the CIA intervened in our elections or even assassinated JFK. However, today’s traitors were too comfortable with this coup for it to be their first rodeo. When I have time, I’m going to go though the evidence and uncertainties in the JFK shooting and quite a few other events. I’m curious just how far back in history this treason goes. For the moment, the more urgent concern is what we need to do to restore our constitutional republic and put an end to the threat posed by the deep state.
