The media gets lower marks on its performance than President Trump regarding its handling of the coronavirus pandemic, according to a new poll from Monmouth University.

The poll released Monday afternoon shows 50 percent of Americans approving of President' Trump's handling of the crisis, while 45 percent say the media has done a good job in reporting on it. Ten percent said the results were mixed on both fronts.

Congress also received more negative than positive reviews, with just 42 percent of participants in the Monmouth poll saying it has done a good job.

The American public itself was also included in the poll and performed worse than any group surveyed. Overall, just 38 percent said the U.S. public has done a good job in handling the crisis.

Governors across the country performed better than any group, with 72 percent saying their state's governor has performed well.

Federal health agencies also scored relatively high marks with 65 percent approval.

Regardless of how much Democrats try to twist Trumps' words and attack him for his response to this health crisis, the American people still trust Trump more than the media.

How in the hell can the media receive a 45% positive rating? Because they’re blaming Trump for everything, and the liberals are voting for this?

The media gets lower marks on its performance

Maybe that's because "media" is a Latin plural noun and requires a plural verb and a plural pronoun. Yet the very people who make a living with words don't know that, which does little to enhance their credibility.

It's a common enough mistake, and one that's permissible among ordinary citizens. But it is slothful and sloppy for so-called professionals.

That’s how you know it’s a BS poll that skews left. You can shave at least 5 points from MSM and add 5 to Trump. It was of Adults I think. Any poll that is of “Adults” is crap.

This is yellow journalism at its worst. This cartoon from the American satire magazine Puck from the late 19th Century still applies in 2020:
