Disingenuousness is not a flattering look for you.

There is a reason Don Quixote has been an enduring classic. People are always emulating his example. People are responsible for the results of their actions not just whether they stood on principle. It’s especially cheap when others pay the price for the warm glow that comes from standing on principle.
I believe you fight the good fight as long and as hard as you can and then get the best compromise you can to protect & serve the American people. It’s a war not a battle, there will be another chance to improve things.

Perhaps if I had spelled altar correctly?
My only point is that when you have something with so many moving parts delay allows the opportunity for some person or event to imperil the effort.

If there was not such a sense of urgency and such widespread panic, insisting on a roll call vote or a voice vote wouldn’t have incensed people, including me. As it was Massie’s move was a self indulgent pointless act that risked the failure to pass a relief act, risked the health of many people and had financial repercussions.

I don’t like the bill. I despise the Left and the things they tried to stuff in just consign them to Dante’s 9th circle (treachery) IMO. I think they betrayed themselves and have given us ammunition to win back the House (crosses fingers). I think the Kennedy Center provision is going to cause the Left a great deal of embarrassment since the KC has just laid off the entire orchestra, after the bill had been passed.

However once the Senate had stood firm, refused to consider the Left’s bill, pulled the House back to the Senate’s bipartisan Bill (some giveaways but worlds better) the bill needed to be passed to prevent chaos in the Country.

I'm incensed that they left what was originally a supposed error? in the bill that allowed people to receive their full pay plus and additional $600 a week for 4 month. But we had to cram it through..just like we had to cram Commie Care through. Otherwise, how much time would it have taken to pass a correct the "error" and keep the spending under a half Trillion? If we would need more down the line just pass another bill for another 1/2 Trillion. Speedy Delivery Mr Rogers Neighborhood GIF - SpeedyDelivery ...

Kind of sounds like they are changing the story?...it wasn’t supposedly only about calling for the roll call?

With the veracity of the news being what it is, who knows. In anything you read there is the possibility of cherry picked quote and spin. That’s why I went to look up where Massey had stood on votes, something concrete, before taking a position.

The bill could have been better but most of the $ are loans.
Under the small business rescue plan, of the $377 billion loan program:

$350 billion will be for loan forgiveness grants to small businesses and non-profits to maintain existing workforce and help pay for other expenses like rent, mortgage, and utilities;
$10 billion will be for the Small Business Administration (SBA) emergency grants of up to $10,000 to provide immediate relief for small business operating costs; and
$17 billion will be for SBA to cover 6 months of payments for small businesses with existing SBA loans.

The $500 billion lending fund for distressed businesses will be provided through the Treasury Department’s Exchange Stabilization Fund, which the Federal Reserve can then leverage to inject approximately $4 trillion back into the marketplace in secured loans. Specifically, $454 billion of the total will be used for loans and guarantees to support credit facilities that will be established by the Federal Reserve. Once the coronavirus pandemic has passed, the loans must be paid back – there will be no loan forgiveness. An independent Inspector General and Congressional Oversight Panel will be established to oversee Treasury loans and investments.

TRANSPORTATION
Within the $500 billion to Treasury’s Exchange Stabilization Fund for loans, loan guarantees, and other investments, direct loans will be made available to several transportation sectors, including:

$25 billion for passenger air carriers and other eligible businesses
$4 billion for cargo air carriers; and
$17 billion for businesses important to maintaining national security.

The issue of over payment of salary was addressed by Lindsay Graham, Ben Sasse, Rick Scott, and Tim Scott who have agreed to drop procedural objections and let the bill move on a fast track in exchange for a vote on an amendment to the package to cap beefed-up unemployment benefits at 100 percent of workers’ salaries. Their amendment failed, setting the stage for final passage of the mammoth coronavirus stimulus package later Wednesday evening.

Masse is (was) a regular on Kennedy’s show, seems to be a straight shooter. This bill may not have been the best time to start singing off key.
