We only really take D and Zinc and Magnesium- we do the Vit D Hammer” whenever we feel a cold or flu coming on which is 50,000 iu of D at once- once in two weeks- not every day— it’s supposed to ‘hammer the flu’ into submission lol- seems to help- and it supposedly shortens the duration- D is pretty safe and it certainly can’t hurt to try- Had soem kind of crud two weeks ago- slight cough, runny nose for 3 days- weak, tired, headache, slight breathing issue- very slight fever (99.1) which only lasted about 1/2 hour or so
Took the D hammer, and felt better the next day (had the crud for about 5 days- so maybe it was leaving anyways- don’t know) coulda just been coincidental- but i think the D helped-
A bit surprised there was no mention of Quercetin since it’s known to have antiviral properties (and is a natural zinc ionophor.)
A few more links about Quercetin’s antiviral effects:

I placed myself on a low-carbohydrate diet to reduce my gut bacterial load to enable my immune system to better fight my mild viral infection.
I also brushed and flossed my teeth well and used mouthwash to reduce my mouth bacterial load.
Not force-feeding the fuel for microbe reproduction (simple sugars) has always worked for me. Not even honey or any supposed acceptable carbohydrate. Zero carbs.
I think your list is missing one important item.....maybe falls under exercise. Not sure it was on Mom’s list.....
Is that 10 x 500 iu in the hammer?
Stressed spelled backwards is Desserts. Lay off the sugar if stressing over the po pandemic.

They watch..you thru the window????
I have some family members who operate a chain of health food stores. I asked them this same question a while ago and was referred to an article by Dr. Zoltan P. Rona MD Msc. Hes a contributing writer for Vitality Magazine. His Top 10 list can be found starting on page 24 at the link below. At a quick glance, his list looks like it has a lot of similarity to the Healthline article. What Ive done is take the two lists and Ill compare them item by item in conjunction with what Im taking already as my daily regimen.... then figure out if there are any gaps that need to be filled.
no that would be 5000 only- you want 50,000 iu for ‘the hammer’- you can research it online- there’s actually some pretty good studies medically on it- You could also take 10,000 per day for 5 days- but i prefer to take it all at once- one day a week IF i feel I’m coming down with something- look up “Vitamin D Hammer’ the folks that have studied it recommend it and explain why better than i could
Thanx for heppin with my math
do you have 500 iu Vit D? Or 5000? if it’s just 500- you’ll have to take way too many- try to get some that are 5000, or even 10,000- Amazon sells them- always good to have around for both winter, and also for when flues hit- (Zinc is good too- as it magnesium- i also keep a bottle of oil of oregano- supposed to be a good anti-viral, antibacterial etc- but they are rugged- )
