Tucker demands halt to 'demented' policy letting foreign workers take US jobs amid unemployment crisis
Fox News ^ | April 1 2020 | By Charles Creitz

As the coronavirus contagion ravages the U.S. economy and social distancing requirements force the closure of businesses and put millions out of work, the federal government is actively inviting foreign labor into the country to seek jobs, Tucker Carlson said Wednesday on "Tucker Carlson Tonight."

According to Carlson, the Department of Homeland Security released 20,000 H-2B visas Wednesday for seasonal workers to take landscaping, food processing and tourism jobs -- while another 15,000 "bonus visas" are scheduled to be released in May.

"By law, the United States only has to offer 66,000 H-2B visas per year," the host said. "But [acting] Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf has used his discretionary powers to add 35,000 extra visas.

"So that's a total of 100,000 workers coming to this country to take jobs during the single biggest unemployment crisis in a century," Carlson said. "It's demented."

President Trump has turned a blind eye to H-1B parasites. Even in the best of times these parasites have caused American college grads to be passed over for tech jobs. Americans with a tech degree have a much more rigorous course load. Foreign workers might claim a “degree” but it is on the order of a two year backwoods “tech” school at best.

I was listening to Trump’s press conference late yesterday, where he and DHS head were talking about America’s farmers and smooth access for seasonal farm workers. Trump anticipated part of my concern and said “these are long-term workers who really understand the farms and crops they are working on… Farmers need them or we’d have no farms.”

YES - but America is about to have depression-levels of unemployed We can’t find any farm-workers among them?

This colonization of America by multinational corporations must end. If you want Americans to get more STEM degrees you cannot cut them off at the knees by having low cost indentured servants replace them in the job marketplace. If this continues much longer it will be time for a revolution.

COVID-19 is now infecting India and President Trump must close America to all Indians to prevent the spread of this plague and to stop kicking Americans in the face when the chips are down.

Thank God for Tucker. I hope they don't Trish him.

Great Depression II could be on the horizon and corporations and tractor monkeys are still getting their cheap labor candy. It's UFB.

You guessed it - if we could find folks to do seasonal labor (actual physical work) we wouldn't have farmers relying on imported seasonal laborers....How many of the latest 6 million new jobless do you think are up to the challenge?

Wait on them to pitch in to earn some money and the crops will rot in the fields and never make it to market.

We can if we make it so that working nets people more money than welfare.

Cut off welfare for the able-bodied.

We can’t afford freeloaders anymore.

H-1B has nothing to with manual labor. OTH farmhands need to be American citizens Period.

if we could find folks

It's called a free market for labor and you 'find' them by offering enough pay. You don't SET wages then try to find people. IT'S THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

IT’S not just college grads. I went to what was called a Vocational-Technical HS, we had 2 paths, to a point we all took the same English, Civics, Government, Math, US History, world History, Biology, there it diverged into a College path and a Work Vocation path. We had wood, auto, electronics shops; sewing, cooking, economics that either could take as it taught first aid, how to wire a lamp, do small home repair. The 1 thing that needs changed, females or males now should be able to take any of the Vocational classes. I know it was back in 1963-1966 when I graduated. A time girls wore skirts never pants.

Amen! Globalists think if they ignore supply and demand, we'll forget it exists.

Nothing wrong with Voc-Tech schools. But Indian schools are rife with cheating and bribery. They are inferior in every respect to American schools. I can vouch for American Voc-Tech schools — I started out there.

Depression level of unemployed is absolutely right, if not worse. I don’t know anybody who is working now, and before this virus it was the opposite. I got laid off yesterday, and even if this thing is cured tomorrow, which it won’t be, it’s going to take a looong time to get things back to normal, if they can ever be. There’s always going to be that paranoia from now on about public places such as restaurants, movie theaters, concerts, trains, planes thanks to our panic inciting media.

Democrats picked one hell of a doozy when they colluded with the Chinese to get Trump out of office. But they don’t care, like all commies the people are expendable, Pelosi and Adam Schitt still have their jobs and money. They don’t waste anytime already setting up a committee for coup attempt #3. The people are expendable, more power for democraps must be the priority.........

Wait on them to pitch in to earn some money and the crops will rot in the fields and never make it to market.

I deal with companies like Walmart and Target. In most cases, they will simply buy whatever is cheapest. If they find their competition is selling at 5 cents cheaper, they will come back to you the supplier, and bash you over the head for a 6 cent discount. Retailers like this are hugely responsible for manufacturing leaving for China and elsewhere.

Speaking personally, I would pay more per tub of strawberries if I know its picked by Americans, or if it is local. I actively seek out local food products from our local farmers. I know I’m a small minority among all consumers, but I agree that Americans won’t come out to work on farms if welfare options are available, nor will corporations encourage hiring only Americans, either.
