On Monday morning I had a delivery to my apartment from the nearby off-licence - or liquor store, as they say over here.
And I put a jokey picture on Twitter of a bottle of gin and eight bottles of tonic, with the caption that at least I had the next week sorted.
After leaving the White House Briefing Room on Monday evening following a marathon two-hour 24-minute press conference, I felt I could have knocked off the whole lot in one sitting.
This has been the most dizzying, jaw-dropping, eyeball-popping, head-spinning news conference I have ever attended. And I was at Bill Clinton's news conference in 1998 when he faced the press for the first time over his relationship with Monica Lewinsky.
I was at this president's first White House gathering when he called me "another beauty". I was in Helsinki when he had his first news conference with Vladimir Putin, and seemed to prefer to believe the Russian leader over his own security and intelligence chiefs on interference in the 2016 election.
What made last night's encounter unique was the context. And secondly, this was, if you like, a distillation - all the talk of gin, I think, forced me to use that word - in one news conference of what three and a half years of Donald Trump has been like to cover.
Donald Trump walked into the briefing room with scores to settle with the media. This wasn't about the dead, the desperately sick, the people fearful of catching the virus. This was about him. And more particularly his profound sense of grievance that the media has been critical of his handling of Covid-19.

He didn’t come into the brief looking for a fight. Trump doesn’t back down, he fights back. The media hit first and they don’t like getting their butt kicked, as far as media is concerned, they are supposed to be the bullies in the room, and like most bullies, getting hitting back twice as hard makes then cry like babies.
Especially Brit reporters. Biggest bunch of babies I’ve ever seen/heard.
In Britain any republican or conservative politician in the US is ALWAYS depicted as dumb, bigoted, mean spirited, racist while every democrat in the states is smart and kind and wonderful.

The bio isn't ever going to say he's a lobbyist, but here's what you find on him and you have to connect a couple of dots. Here are the dots I found.
Not listed in his bio was that his work for the International Monetary Fund was in Beijing.
He's a director at Waters Street, which is a consulting agency based in Washington D.C. and states on their web site that 70% of their business is outside the US. Their work concentrates heavily on joint ventures.
BTW, he took his wife's name when they got married, but at least she didn't make him take her boyfriend's name. His original last name was Kolsevich.
The Waters Street web site is weird, but a lot of ambiguously named companies have web sites that are like that. Here's what shows up under a duckduckgo description in one article, but the text isn't anywhere on the page:

So, his bio has been recently changed, and the article that apparently used to have his name on it, but now has the managing director's name on it is about a joint venture between ViiV Healthcare, Pfizer, and GlaxoSmithKline. It was done to combine the companies' HIV/AIDS R&D activities, product portfolios, etc, to create the world's second largest HIV-focused healthcare company.

Obama held very few White Huise press Conferences.
Remember that Obama would require ALL questions to be submitted to the press secretary for pre-approval.
Obama knew before hand what questins would be asked. It was all scripted.
But with PDJT, its a free wheeling free for all which requires reporters to have researched the topic on which they are asking questions.
If not, they can receive a spanking from president Trump right on the spot.
Ask yourself which style represents the transparent style of s Democratic Republic where we are all free men.
He may be losing his battle and he may be sensing it...I hope not from a humanity stand point.

Am I right that it appears slightly over 1000 new deaths only yesterday to today?
I know one day is not a trend, but in the least I think the numerical increase has stopped. No longer almost 2000 new deaths a day.
