The suspects’ surnames weren’t released for privacy reasons.

I'm not sure what bothers me more... the entire concept of privacy for those arrested, or the state refusing to identify fully whom they arrested.

Probably the refusing to identify - that's very troubling. But in the end I'll have to go with both - transparency in whom is incarcerated should be the hallmark of any democracy. You start hiding names, you'll feel much more comfortable hiding people.

This seems to make the concept of "wanted" posters obsolete.
