The field hospital constructed in the gymnasium at Joint Base Cape Cod in Bourne closed Tuesday without hosting a single patient with the coronavirus, according to the Cape Cod Times.
Work to build the temporary hospital with 94 beds began at the beginning of April with anticipation of a surge along the Cape. Fortunately, it never arrived.
“We never got into our surge numbers,” president and CEO of Cape Cod Healthcare Michael Lauf told the newspaper.
The facility was open for about two weeks.
The health care provider closed the hospital after discussions with Gov. Charlie Baker, the report said.

That cuz all the people are at home with cold-like symptoms.
Big elderly population on The Cape. Baker will still drag his feet opening up despite the states around us starting to open ,except for NY. He’ll, they may open before MA.
Houston’s cost $60million never saw a patient and will be spending local and federal money to offset that cost.
Some staffers were being paid $2500 a day and NO PATIENTS.
You’d have to be crazy to go into a Coronavirus field hospital. Then you’d have to rely on the medico-political gang to let you out. And why would they, when they can collect money for you from the Deep State?
Which is amazing given the size of the epidemic in Massachusetts overall.
It shows how important keeping the virus out of a locality is.
But we’ve let New York spread its disease out and further out each day.
And the most ironic/ridiculous thing - they are all congratulating themselves that their completely unused and symbolicly stupid field hospital “was not needed.”
So everyone on Cape Cod got Coronavirus in November and they have herd immunity.

I remember early on the Cape residents wanted the bridges closed to keep NY’ers out ...
And remember the grocery store is safe, but fishing or hiking by yourself outside will spread the disease and kill granny.
Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

That is a ridiculous argument. If we add 7500 hospital beds to every major city can we get on with it — We have gone from risk adverse to no risk at all which is completely unrealistic

The only place I’ve seen where they were needed was the NY nursing homes begging for the infected patients to be sent there instead of the homes.
I’m really trying to grasp the thinking around the Fed Field Hospitals... Why WOULDN’T a city send all patients to them!! Why not use them?
