The San Remo Conference of 1920 that is the legal basis of ‘Palestine’ as a Jewish homeland recognized its Jewish nature the same way that conference recognized the the ethnic nature of Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq.

There was no imposition of a requirement that those nations be open to proselytization they saw as against their best interest.

That was my point. This is and Israeli matter being argued by Israelis as members of a sovereign nation. Doesn’t matter what the rest of us think. As for me, I think it is a miracle that from its inception, its leaders have tried to be both a Jewish state and have freedom of religion. An almost impossible task, and if they err occasionally to one side or the other, it is understandable.
